Sure, I believe with certainty that they can coexist. They usually don't, though. I have studied the Bible and know it pretty well, and I can't see anything in there that says "don't gamble." There is a parable (the parable of the talents) about how God was pleased with the one who invested his money and made it grow, and how he was displeased with the one who buried it and saved it, but didn't multiply it. The only way you can make money grow is to take risks with it. You can invest in a stock or invest in a ballgame, it's all the same. I think that the Biblical God would be pleased with someone who uses their talents to profit, even if it's gambling. Let's face it, successful gamblers work very hard! I think that 95% of Bible thumpers who claim that gambling is a sin have no idea what they are talking about, just that their preacher told them so. I do think that it can cause a lot of problems in a person's life, if they don't have self-control. Greed, anger, and cursing God's name, just to name a few. Not that I have ever done that before. :>Grin> But I'm in the middle of a spiritual crisis, trying to figure out what I believe the truth is in this world, and I don't believe that gambling is wrong, in and of itself.
