WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush expressed disappointment Monday with U.S.-trained Iraqi troops who have abandoned the battlefield and he cautioned that next month's elections in Iraq were only the beginning of a long process toward democracy. "When the heat got on, they left the battlefield - that is unacceptable," he said.

I seem to recall Bush wearing a medal in one of his old 70's portrait photos and he hadn't even earned it.

This Bush administration is the best black comedy to come out of America for YEARS.

Any scriptwriter would give his eye teeth for this kind of material, its classic cult movie stuff.

Just like daddy's Panama ... take out a dictatorship that's no longer giving us enough of the cut, disband their army, spend lots of time ensuring the media shows they are incapable of creating a working replacement military, then have the new gov't (d'uh -- how'd they get there?!?) hand over military responsibilities to the good ol' US of A.

You watch -- American military bases will lend themselves "legitimacy" by being the de facto Iraqi army for probably the next five years or so, by executive order signed by presumptive President Allawi.

Marionettes, anyone?

The Bush Administration should be the basis for Dr Strangelove 2.

You couldn't make these guys up.

He calls up inactive reservists, G.I.'s are being forced to stay in, extend their contracts and then the Nam dodging, AWOL going putz disrespects our soldiers, priceless.

Jack Nicholson would make a good rat faced short-arsed President...
Robert Duvall (with specs) as Rumsfeld....

We've got the makings of a cult classic...

The script has already been written too...

What's wrong with these Muslim Stupids. They could easily deal with the scum if they would just ban together and get rid of them.

It just maybe hopeless. No will, no testosterone.

What's smaller than a teeny weeny mosquito?

Unh, unh. Gotta give the GW role to Michael Palin. Nobody can pull off a speech impediment like that guy.

Steve Buscemi as Wolfowitz, Ed Asner as Cheney, agreed on Duvall as Rumsfeld.

Who plays Condi??? Sheri O'Terri, perhaps?? Or maybe Andrea Martin??

If the Iraqis are going to run at the first sign of trouble then they deserved to be ruled by Iran or whoever takes over. It may be time to put bases around the oil and recoup our cost. I filled up for 1.50 gallon today, is that the cheapest in the western world?

Whoppi Goldberg has played in a few movies ...

Nah .. need an actress who can do that puckered nose and furrowed brow thing. Whoopi has too much puff in her cheeks to pull it off. Plus I don't think she could pull off that whole pickle-planted-firmly-in-arse bit, either.

No, I think the nod has to go to Andrea Martin.

Yes, they saw one little teensy homemade bomb (can't really even call it a bomb, given that it really only went *poof*) and decided to throw in the towel. I don't understand it. What's so scary about little car bombs? Is there an ethical conflict with having to kill your fellow citizens?? Hell, I'm sure every American would take up arms to shoot down their brethren in the face of an Arab occupation any day of the week!

Wtf is their problem?????

Xp,

The little bombs are killing more Iraqis than Americans. It's up to them to either stand and fight or lose it all.

"....stand and fight or lose it all."

Not much to lose anymore.
Cancer up 700 to 1000% in Iraq
Birth defects up 400 to 600% in Iraq
Radiation levels up 1000 to 1900 times in Baghdad.

573,000 vets from Gulf war I
160,000 proved to the satisfaction of government doctors that they had a service related medical problem.

Figuring on a percentage basis, this equals about 28% medical claims
WW II had a 6.6% claims
Korea had 5% claims
Vietnam had 9.6% claims
And how long was the war/ground assault in Gulf War I?
Do the numbers tell you anything about the silent nuke war going on with depleted uranium?

Not to mention the birth defects in the children of Gulf War I vets.

Iraq is lost for the next 4.5 billion years, forget about anybody building a life over there, regardless whether they are terrorist, civilian, or military.

However, on a brighter note, the soldiers who have left combat would fit right in with the current republican administration........now that the "we aren't gonna fight" phase is over they can enter the "your kids can fight and die so I can make some easy $$$" phase......

War profiteering is such a wonderful pastime....
