This marbled-mouth little leprechan was on ESPN today stating that Notre Dame is going to meet Florida for the National Championship.

I know the Irish have an easy schedule, but come on Lou.

Didn't Lou say Notre Dame was going win 11 games last year?

How ESPN has this guy on is beyond me.:think2:

Notre Dame is going to be better...but even if they do run the table...their schedule isn't strong enough to vault them over a one or two loss SEC/Big 12 team.

I have to disagree,if ND runs the table I think they will get in over a one loss big 12 or ones loss sec team.

Lou Holtz is the biggest fool on a network of fools. He is a complete and total homer, who could not pick a winner if his life depended on it. He talks like someone from the hills of West Virginia with a 2nd grade education. Too bad that ESPN cast him in the role of "dumb hick" because he is a very good motivator and gives excellent speches, when he is serious. This is just a game to him, and it is unfortunate that he does not realize what a complete and TOTAL ASS he looks and sounds like.
You need to look in the mirror.

I hope they run the table and win the BCS, but I'm not counting on it at all. Heck, I will be happy with a BCS bowl win.

Who cares what Lou Holtz says. He is just trying to get some publicity. Would not be surprised if he was asked by ESPN to specifically make those comments in order to make some headlines.

I agree. If they run the table they will be in the National Championship, but obviously they have a lot of work to do before any of this becomes relevant.

I bet they don't beat Stanford at the end of the season.

Harbaugh has pulled off everything no one expected him to do so far in his career and I think him beating ND is the next thing on his list of to-dos. They will waltz into bowl season off a win for the first time in a decade. A big win over ND will get them all kinds of attention in the upcoming bowl season. Harbaugh has now got the horses to pull it off.

I don't think so...If Florida goes undefeated (for sake of this argument) and Oklahoma/Texas finish 12-1 then Notre Dame is probably on the outside.

Lou is a little crazy sometimes but I do expect Notre Dame to be highly improved...

Maybe you saw a different segment but the one I saw he specificially said he was not predicting them to go undefeated but it wouldn't surprise him if they did - and there was nothing about them playing Florida.

Guys, with Notre Dame's schedule this year, I think they have as much a chance to go as USC does. It really is not that far fetched. Will they do it? I don't think so, but it is conceivable. Just saying.

I'm sorry, but did ND take USC off of their schedule for this season and not tell me?

I know USC lost 10 on "D," but come on....ND didn't get a 1st down until the second half...I know ND is poised to make marked improvement, but USC is still USC...

That USC defense that stopped Notre Dame cold last season is now gone. Having said that, the more I look at USC the more I'm beginning to like them as a darkhorse contender this year. I'm not quite as high on Sanchez as the NFL is. I think that either of these two kids coming in to take his place will be better. Just my opinion.

The USC defense will pretty much stop Notre Dame dead in their tracks again this year to. ND says their run game will improve this year, but when you look at the run game Charlie has put in the field the last 4 years (#100, 115, 72, 55), how much improvement can you expect? This year's USC DL will be as good as last years DL and against a weak running offense, that doesn't bode well for Notre Dame.

So we have USC shutting down the ND running game and Charlie is forced to pass to get down the field, as he does have a couple of good WR's. But this isn't a very good match up for Notre Dame either, as the USC secondary will be better than last years unit, will be the best position unit on the team and very well could be the best in the nation, as they were last year.

Notre Dame isn't beating USC.

The Trojan DL will be very good this year and most everyone, especially those who think all the talent went to the NFL last year, will be very surprised.
