You just go there and take your picture, fill out the forms, wait in line submit them and pay like $100 bucks. Then you go back and pick it up in like a week.

Go down to the embassy (no appointment needed)....have pictures on you......fill out paper work.....done in 2 days or so.....also if you tell them it is an emergency (planes leaves tomorrow)....they will get it to you in the same day.............with an extra charge......

It isn't a tough process, just boring, and the guy who interviews you will make you feel about 2 inches tall for having the nerve to dare lose your precious passport.

I go on Mondays because I don't wake up early.

Walk-In Service: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 11:30 am
Monday Only 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Speaking of the embassy, 6 hours in line for a 3 minute interview, and paid $2620/hour for those 3 minutes. But she got a visa. Will find out Mon/Tue if its for 3 months or 10 years; extra surprise they make you wait for. And we're going to Las Vegas on Friday!

My wife literally did put my Passport in the washing machine. The cover separated from the rest, I had to glue it together. They'd have probably made me replace it sooner than later had I not subsequently lost it.

Beware, AM Costa Rica reporting some bank freezing a gringos bank accounts because his passport number (you'll get a new number) changed.

Excellent, I get to play the 130 dollar roulette in 3 months. In fact I am making my last trip under current visa in about 3 weeks...........I would actually save money if they don't give it to me so whatever the outcome, there will be something positive out of it.
