Hate to talk to someone in India again like last time for an hour to set it. Don't mind the 75.00, just don't like waiting.:think2:

you should be able to see it in your router. open internet explorer and go to

http://192.168.1.1

this should be your router, the usename is blank, the password is admin.

then click on Wireless, then click on Wireless Security and your password should be right there.

If not, hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Will reset to default configuration.

I had the opposite problem, my Linksys "lost" its SSID and WPA password, went back to "Linksys" and "No security" for no apparent reason. (Wasn't a reset, as it still has non-default IP/DHCP config).

If i reset the modem , will this change it from a secured to a non secured config. Seemed like i did this a few years back and i had to completely go through whole process top get it back to secured.:think2:

had to do this a couple of weeks ago when I lost my code so I just reset the router

it only took a few minutes to get it back the way it was secured etc.

buddy if you can't access the admin page like you said, the only way to do it is to reset the router. You don't reset the modem, you reset the router. There is a place on the back where you stick a paperclip or something. Some are different, see the Linksys.com page as to how to reset your particular router.

Setting up the security after it is reset doesn't take long at all. Here is how:

Resetting Wpa Wireless Code

I am no doubt the dumbest F----- that ever came down the pike when it comes to changing things on this damn thing. I have been working non stop to try and figure out how to do this with no sucess. I finally decided to have someone come tomorrow and do it. I was afraid if i got any madder, i would throw it threw the window. Already did that to a flat screen a few months back trying to set the new dvd to it. I worked non stop for four hours and got nowhere. I hate to quit on something like this, it dives me nuts and i will be up all night trying to figure out why i can't do it and a two year old can. Thanks for the many people trying to help.:ohno:

Hurrah, finally got it at 7:00 this morning. Got up at 5:00 after thinking about it all night and realized i was using someone's else's signal and it didn't recognize my router since it wasn't connected to it. It kept asking for key and wouldn't let me in. Finally, i disabled it , got on and followed the instruction's per you guy's. Thanks a lot
