.....when Goaliepost starts using Covers.com as a reference for a starting goalie.

Niklas Backstrom
Probable @ 8:01am EST
8:01am Suggesting Backstrom (Covers.com)

How desperate are they for information? Pretty soon we should see a sighting of them crediting the Rx posting forum for a lead on who's going to be in net.

just have your pop up blocker well greased.

Hmmmm with this in mind how did you stumble across their post on Minny starting goalie with in 30 minutes of them posting it?

I think this is a cheap shot VIC at site that has been incredible helpful and very accurate over time.

They sited the source you could take it with a grain a salt.

They have also shown the maturity to ask for you input at their site.

Looks like you are the one "losing credibility" now

Hey it's me goaliepost,

Vic did email me we did pass a few emails back and forth. We both agree all Previews (covers/espn/nhl/thesportnetwork/AP News/Etc.) are usually written the night before and under time constraints.
Therefore they most likely use 'guesstimates' when referencing goalies. This is why I don't post starting goalies in advance of the current day, except of course firm starts I put in the quickhits.

Now the previews are still valuable as they note statistic, streaks, and current rotations. As for them being a Firm or likely source, it'll probably never happen.

Vic was speaking his mind, which is what happens in a free country, we all want a free country don't we.
Yes, some days I am desperate for sources, some days I use forums as a source. Some forums have hard core fans on them that go to the morning skates.

Basically, I post every bit of information available about the goalies and you can make the final decision. This is why it ticks me off when people say "You picked the Wrong Goalie". No, I gave you all the info available and you picked. I introduced a colour system because some people choose not to read or follow the sources through - lazy I guess.

Anyway, my sites up and I reply to 'almost' every email. I accept good and bad comments. This site has come a long way since the 2006-2007 season because of the input I received.
If you've been around since the beginning you know what I mean.

GPOST, I think I speak for the group when I state that we really appreciate your dedication to keeping your site updated as well as you do.

Do you have contact info like a cell phone that can be reached during day? I often hear the Lightning goalie announced during afternoon 20/20 updates on one or more of our three sports radio stations down here.

I "think" I had your number if you're the guy I recall dropping at least one note to last year..."jeff"?

Despite my early morning criticism I for one would like to thank goaliepost for their efforts and helping us all in trying to make this endeavor we enjoy a successful one.

I appreciate their early posts, the links supplied to each goalie, the ease of use, and thank goodness....no pop-ups!

I have already apologized directly to the gentlemen at goaliepost but feel it's appropriate to do so again here. As Powerz said you handled my attack with great restraint and maturity.

I thank you for your efforts and will now stand in my corner for one hour.

Savant...can you please remove the the hotlinked image for post number one? It uses up goaliepost's bandwidth.

We should all be thankful that a site exists like Goaliepost.com where we can go and see starting goalie info. It might not be perfect but it is far and away the best site we all have to see this info.

The game previews posted at Covers.com are not written by Covers. Those previews are written by the Associated Press or some other news agency like that and multiple sites copy those previews and post them. If you read the game previews on ESPN.com, they are the same exact ones posted at Covers.com. Any of you saying GoaliePost.com is losing credibility for posting a Covers.com preview that isn't even written by Covers are wrong.
