Stupid move by Seattle as we will see the Deja Vu act of Charlotte. I know about that screwup and expect to see the same things in Seattle. Charlotte owners wanted a new arena. When they couldn't get it they packed up for New Orleans. Then the city built a great new arena for an expansion team that sucks and are always 5-10 year projects at least. Hornets were perennial playoff contenders and are building a championship type team. Bobcats not so good.

I don't know if a team can survive in Oklahoma City, but they'll have a very good team in a couple years. They'll be one of the worst again this season in my opinion, but they'll get a top pick next year to go along with Durant and Westbrook. It doesn't take long to turn a basketball franchise around. When you only need about 8-10 players you can build a winner quickly if you draft well and make smart off-season decisions.

yea i dont see oklahoma being a winning city for a franchise either(but i would of never guessed utah and they seem to do alright). but sonics are not going to have a good team going to be towards the bottom if not the worse team next year. i really see this backfiring for the sonics team and seattle

I noticed there were 11 thousand inquiries for season tickets Wed.and Thurs in OKC, that's pretty good response IMO.

Of coarse OKC will pretty much sell out all their games in the first season or two, and after that they should be getting good so I'm sure it will do very well for a while. The question is will the city continue to support the team when they're back at the bottom of the league because a lot of small cities can't. We'll see though, I'd love for them to stand behind the team because the city really deserves a pro team.

Oklahoma like UTAh are dead boring cities. If you dont go to the game, you aint got crap to do!!! They will go to the games come rain, snow sleet, tornadoes whatever!!!

pro basketball is the only professional sport that could survive here...college sports dominate oklahoma there is no way a pro football or baseball team could last but the nba is a perfect fit. I went to alot of the hornet games when we had them and it was one of the most fun atmospheres ive been apart of...glad to have another team here :D
