Example:

Book has Wichita State at 50-1 to win the tournament.

Say you lay 500 to win $25,000.

It takes 6 games to win the money.

Figure at least they should be a top 4 seed.

Seems like you should be able to hedge thru to make a dime or two.

Thoughts??

usually these are priced about right man.. besides #4 or #3 lose to 14/13 often enough and then you have game after game after.. if anything wichita is good, but they are definitely not going to win the championship (imo).. I would think that your hedge wouldnt last long though would be my guess so might make sense...

You might be able to make out similar though come tournament time.. because there might be 10+ teams favored to win it above them once the tournament starts too probably so you arent gaining much of anything at this point.

Wichita St is better then last year.. last year they could have won it.. I have them on my short list to win it this year.. 50/1 is a great bet for the position there in right now.. no doubt you have nice potential with this future..they are in a #2 seed position at the moment

Was just using them as an example. You would have to have a guaranteed tourney team and at high odds.

RT, I think you have a legitimate hedge here....but I think the only way you really get this is to skip the first 2 games and start the hedging in the sweet 16...can you stomach that? and when down to final 8 teams, you are going to be laying some -250 or so to hedge....maybe a good idea to track it this year and implement next year

Wichita at 50-1 is a great bet. They will be a #1 - #2 seed. They most likely finish regular season undefeated and are a total well rounded team. they could win it all and at those odds its worth a stab
