[h=1]London Fletcher: 'Back-stabbing' Redskins DC Jim Haslett is 'clueless'[/h]By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

Former Redskins linebacker and current CBS Sports analyst London Fletcher was on That Other Pregame Show Sunday morning and did not pull any punches when it came to talking about current Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett.
Fletcher, who played for Haslett for four seasons, wondered how the defensive coordinator still has his job and more or less uncorked on Haslett, calling him "clueless" and a back stabber.
"Why does Jim Haslett still have his job as defensive coordinator after five years of ineptitude at the defensive coordinator position?" Fletcher asked. "He is clueless as a defensive coordinator. He lacks attention to detail. He lacks feel on how to call a game. Some of the calls he used to call when I was playing were head scratching. They were so bad I used to change them –- ‘We're not running that.' And we'd get off the field and he would ask, ‘Why did you change the call.'"
Fletcher explained on the show he would say, "'Because that's just a dumb call. That's why I changed it.'"
Fletcher then proceeded to state that Haslett's been making "excuses' "for years" and "throws everybody under the bus."
"For years he has always made excuses. One minute it was ‘We're changing from the 3-4 and we don't have the right personnel.' Next minute it is salary cap. Next minute it is Mike Shanahan. Next minute it is injuries," Fletcher said. "Mike Shanahan recognized early that this guy does not know what he is doing. And he tried to help him out… And what does Jim Haslett do? He threw (Shanahan) under the bus just like he throws everybody under the bus, players and coaches included. He is a guy that does not know what he is doing."
Fletcher then proceeded to point out Jay Gruden should "watch his back" because Haslett is "probably back stabbing" him "like he did everybody else.

Jim Haslett and Fletcher were on the Redskins together from 2010-2013.(Getty Images)

And the Washington Redskins and Jay Gruden in particular better watch his back and get Jim Haslett out of the door… Jay Gruden better get him out of the door because he's probably back stabbing Jay Gruden like he did everybody else – like he did to Scott Linehan in St. Louis and like he did to Mike Shanahan in Washington… This is a guy that would take the '85 Bears and turn them into a mediocre defense. He is clueless. He has no idea what he is doing. Believe me, I had a front row seat for four years.
Fiery words from the biggest leader of the Redskins defense during the majority of Haslett's run there.
The dialogue spilled into Twitter, where Haslett's son took to his dad's defense, leading to Fletcher's response below.

The skins are a fucking mess. They need to clean house from top to bottom. Haslett has shown some signs of coaching a decent defense but they still leave receivers wide open, their secondary is a mess, they can't do shit. Snyder should sell the team, change the name, and just erase the past 20+ years they wasted of my life!!

they traded three first-round draft picks and a second-round picks for RGIII and he's been a bust. That will screw shit up for a lot of teams.

RG3 actually brought about the greatest season us Skins fans have had in 20+ years. It's not like the skins have a great draft picking track record. I would take that deal again any day. They are just a mess of an organization.

well, you can start getting draft picks again next year. Maybe that will help. I still say you gave up too much for him but maybe if he didn't get hurt in the playoffs he would be worth those picks. We might never know.

As a skins fan going through Heath Shuler, Gus Frerotte, Todd Collins, Old man Brunell, Old man Brad Johnson, Rex Grossman, Jason Campbell, etc. Having a ROY at qb bringing us to the playoffs was an amazing feeling. I think Jay Gruden and this coaching staff is fucking useless. I mean he's only played 4 full games this year after a year in a knee brace. Give the dude a chance. McCoy and Gruden embarrassed themselves yesterday.

The RG3 trade was the dumbest trade in the history of the NFL. The Redskins always get taken to the woodshed in any trade or free agent signing because Snyder is so desperate for a winner that he negotiates from a position of weakness. The Redskins will never be good again, with him running the team.

Akphidelt, if you ever need 3 seats on the 40 yard line, in the lower bowl, on the aisle, send me a DM. You can take mine.

Yea, having a ROY who electrified the program, made Snyder a shit load of money, was a horrible deal. I'm sure they would be competing for a SB right now if they didn't make that trade considering their past history of draft picks.

I hated the trade but it wouldnt have made a difference - we suck with our draft picks anyway. We never address the right needs and wont give up on Hasslett. Its unreal how many things the team does wrong. I went to the game on Sunday and we truly were a laughing stock

redskins don't always get takin to the woodshed on trades.
casserly took the saints to the woodshed to get Ricky Williams in the most lopsided trade in NFL history.
Idiot Ditka traded 3 first round draft picks and a 3rd round pick to move up 4 spots in the 1st round to take Williams.
Washington used their pick from the saints to draft hall of famer Champ Bailey with the Saints top first round pick.
Then they drafted several impact players with the other picks.

Washington rewarded casserly by firing him a few months later

Then 3 years after that the Redskins trade the best young corner in the NFL for a running back.

Feel bad for the people who root for bad teams. Not only because the team sucks but because we live in a time period where you can pretty much root for any team you want and watch them every week, follow all the news about them online, etc

It is like they are willingly torturing themselves

I thought it was hilarious that the Rams sent the six guys they received in the RGIII trade to handle the coin toss.

The skins are my local team and I cheer for all the local teams.
