"Local" MVC play for tonight...

Wichita State (-2)

The shockers are a solid team that is making a push for the NCAA tourney this year....They are probably the one team in the league along with So Illinois that could earn an at large bid if they dont win the tourney, and they want to continue to build on that ncaa resume....

Illinois State is a good team, and plays well at home, but Wichita State has proven they can win on the road with a solid 7-2 record....

Think this game will be close in the first half, but the balance attack of the Shockers might be just a little too much for the Redbirds tonight...

Think Wichita state pulls away to win this by 6-8 points at the end, and put a stranglehold on first place in the MVC.....

This is a very local play for me Bucs as I'm about 5 blocks from Redbird Arena. Thinking about going to the game tonight but not sure. I like Wichita in this one as well. I think it's time for my alma mater to lose at home. They are unbeaten in conference play, 10-1 overall with a 5 pt loss to UIC but I think Wichita is too strong. I'm with ya on the play.

Looks like we should have a winner here, Teaser....


Actually went pretty much like i thought....very close game in first half with Ill State holding 1 point lead at half time......and wichita state pulling away in second half....they just happened to pull away a little further than i thought they would but we will take it.....

14 point lead with a little over a minute to go.....

I think the local plays are 16-7 overall.......still pretty good....lost 3 in a row at one time, really dropped the %, but back to 4 out of last 6, and 2 in a row

I went to the game, and Wichita is for real. I leaned that way, but just wanted to enjoy the game, so I didn't take it. They were on fire in the second half. I love how they get up the court and find the open shooter for a 3. Their big buy, Paul Miller, is very tough, and can also find the open shooter, once they pass it inside. They reverse the ball well, and you can tell they are well coached. They will be a tough out in the tourney if they make their threes. Very good team.
