I wanted to start a thread where people from around the country could post information on their local teams. Information that could be helpful in handicapping games. Injuries, suspensions, coach on the hot seat, whatever you think could be helpful to people living outside that particular market.

I'll bat leadoff:
Coach Buzz Peterson is on thin ice when it comes to his future at The University of Tennessee. Some in the local media call that win against LSU a potential job saver. I still don't understand that. Anyway, following this team as an alum the trend has been that an impressive win is usually followed by a disastrous loss. For example, winning at Florida followed by getting smoked at Louisville. Also, Brandon Crump will play tonight against Alabama. However, he will not start and how long he goes depends on how his ankle holds up under game conditions.

Perry, I like you idea and i hope many will respond. Allow me to throw out another idea. As you know, a good handicapping technique is to focus on one conference and become an expert on a small group of teams. We have some guys in here that do just that. What if we formed groups who would focus on particular conferences and feed info to a continuous thread for that conference. Example: A-10 Conference. This group would be made of of forum posters from Philadelphia, Dayton, Cincinnati, Rhode Island, etc. A Cincinnati member would feed any and all info he has on Xavier. A Philadelphia member would be assigned to Temple or other Philly school.

The same would be done for each conference. If a member had a lean on a particular game, he gould go to that thread and see what info has been submiited. This of course would take some time to set up but I think it would be worth it. Just a thought.

Perry: Joe Biddle and the guys on "Sportsnight", seem to think Buzz is going to be given one more year.. He gets the kid from Pulaski next year.. Do you think he will be kept for another year?

He seems to run the same type of ship as Wade Houston...

Re: Buzz

SSI,

Coach Peterson is a good guy and a great member of the UT community. That being said he's a .500 coach. He's had some good wins at UT but, he's had some bad losses too. An SEC school with the athletic budget of a Tennessee should be better than .500 year in and year out. I've got nothing against Buzz personally however, I think he's been given a little too much slack at a football dominated school. It might be time to go in a different direction. We'll see.

Re: Conference Threads

Stilwell,

Sounds like a good idea to me. I'm here in the heart of SEC country and keep up with most of the teams in the league. Like I mentioned earlier I think Alabama coming off an ass kicking at the hands of Florida and, Tennessee putting up a lopsided win over LSU is the perfect storm. Alabama big over UT tonight IMO.

I would like this idea. Being in SEC as well I follow the OVC ,, since MTSU is SUNBELT we are following that conference now,

As far as BUZZ , what I see is a very nice guy but it seems to me that players never improve from year to year. Now can UT get any better coach , well it might be like we are at KY in fact football is always going to be second to basketball and at UT ya got not only the football prograam but sure Lady Vols not going to be third to no one as long as Ms Pat is there..

Kid from Giles is a player but he alone can't turn it around up there,,

Just my two cents , and I have posted a few plays but mainly I just repond if I agree with others on ones I like,,
