HA!!! Howard "The Screamer" Dean, the overwhelming favorite to take over for Terry McAwful for Chair of the DNC. Dems say hello to losing more elections, and even becoming more irrelevant in future years with a kook like that running your party.

What a joke is clowns in here who will not face facts regarding THE WORSE commander in chief in everyones lifetime ...

What was Bush doing with his youth? He was drinking. He was drinking like a fish, every night, into the wee hours. For decades. He gave no service to anyone, risked nothing, and did not even slack off efficiently. At what point he became addicted to cocaine, in addition to demon rum, is unclear.

The history of alcoholism and cocaine use is a key issue because it not only speaks to Bush's character as an addictive personality, but tells us something about his erratic and alarming actions as president. His explosive temper probably provoked the disastrous siege of Fallujah last spring, killing 600 Iraqis, most of them women and children, in revenge for the deaths of 4 civilian mercenaries, one of them a South African. (Newsweek reported that Bush commanded his cabinet, "Let heads roll!")

That temper is only one problem. Bush has a sadistic streak. He clearly enjoyed, as governor, watching executions. His delight in killing people became a campaign issue in 2000 when he seemed, in one debate, to enjoy the prospect of executing wrong-doers a little too much. He has clearly gone on enjoying killing people on a large scale in Iraq. Cocaine use permanently affects the ability of the person to feel deep emotions like empathy. Two decades of pickling his nervous system in various highly toxic substances have left Bush damaged goods. That he managed to get on the wagon (though with that pretzel incident, you wonder how firmly) is laudable. But he suffers the severe effects of the aftermath, and we are all suffering along with him now, since he is the most powerful man in the world. ...

Dean takes over for chair at the DNC.

Good news is the Repubs will have to clean up thier own mess.....

Bad news is that Americans are in for a pretty $hitty trip, except for guys like Buffet and Gates, financial geniuses who will continue to add to thier stack of $$$ by continuing to short the dollar.

Party on boys, it's only money!

Dean should be the DNC chair. He was the only candidate with the balls to stand up for his political beliefs and not bow to some hairbrained idea that the Dems would be better off if they tried to be Republicans. Ask Kerry how well that theory panned out.

The problem is most Democrats don't believe in Dean's political views. That's why he lost 17 primaries and only won his home state. He appeals to only one faction of the Democrat party and repulses the rest. That's not a good way to rebuild a party.

Not living there, I obviously don't know what the average non-message-board-addicted-Democrat thought of Dean. But from everything I gathered, he lost not because he was repulsive, but because the Dems were more concerned about beating Bush than they were about party integrity. Dean was seen as someone who could not appeal to the so-called 'moderate' voter.

As I understand it, anyway.

I think Dean lost Iowa partly because he was "unelectable". The scream turned off the rest of the country, and his antics since then haven't helped him among the normal, rational Democrats. The kooks love him though.

Dean lost because the "liberal" media played what is affectionately known as the Dean Scream ad infinitum. It was the most amazing thing I ever saw. They played that clip non stop on every news show for two solid weeks. I could never understand what was sooo bad about it. Just another example of how voters were manipulated by the press in this election.

The sream was no big deal.

His anti Bush rhetoric made doc deranged glove blush. He sounded like the Hale Bop guy.
He had no solutions whats so ever...unless you call reaching out to our "european allies" a solutuion which looking back is even more laughable and absurd.

I think that everyone here agrees that H Dean should chair the DNC.

I wish Mr Dean a successful tenure.

I think Mr Dean will satisfy his constituency and will further alienate the center - thus cementing Republican control for the next 20 years.
