Sucking weak coffee through a hole in the plastic lid of a red and green styrofoam cup, Sera spots a place to sit down. She has been walking around now for at least two hours and wants desperately to rest. Normally she wouldn't dare hang around this long in front of a 7-11, but the curb looks high and, having recently accumulated a fresh coat of red paint, not too dirty.

Just finished reading the book and it was even better than the movie in my opinion. Not too lengthy for those that don't like to read. Very visual and graphic writing.

The author, John O'Brien, committed suicide at age 34. It is said that this book was his suicide note.

I personally would ALWAYS read the book before the movie, if its that good Ill check it out, never even seen the movie.

btw, whats some other good/interesting books that are better than the movie.

One that sticks out to me, and even though the movie is great, is Forest Gump. The book has him doing many more things that the movie just couldn't handle

From A Recovering Drunk of 32 Yrs

The movie was the most gritty, realistic portrayal of one of us I've ever seen. This guy HAD LIVED the life. Cage did a great job, won an Oscar. Shue was also terrific. Not one to make you smile. Books & movies equally good: Silence of the Lambs, (one of my 5 all time favs), Lonesome Dove,! Disagree on the Firm, best thing Cruise ever did. Same genre "Body Heat", great ending. Kathleen Turner before she got to be a fat pig. Sexy. If you want to see the most realistic scene of a woman having an orgasm, see Coming Home, my lady wanted me to do her right there!!! As I've gotten old my 3 fav. things, a great book, a great CFB gm, & a intelligent, well done movie. Like to discuss movies or books w/you guys, such difference in likes when it comes to age.

I just opened the thread. After reading the first two sentences of the passage, I knew the book in question. No google necessary.

Are you threatening me?
