i think this is the easiest way of breaking down the mindsets.

conservatives believe if you don't succeed in america it's your fault. if you cant find a job, you can start your own business. the tools are there for you, and if you are hard working and have a average IQ you can scrap out a normal to above average life.

liberals believe the system is unjust and weighed heavily towards people in high positions of power. ie ceo's, business owners, execs, over the common worker. they believe the man is holding them down, that it's not possible for the poor man to move ahead, with the man making sure he stays in his place.

It doesn't matter because you missed the third group - The "elitists"

This is the leadership of both groups who believe that they know what is best for everyone.

The White House and both Houses of Congress attract elitists - these people claim to represent one ideology or the other, but they have more in common with each other than they do with the rank and file whom they supposedly lead.

Both Obama and McCain are elitists.

As long as the elitists are in charge, nothing positive will get done.

It isn’t going to happen and why should it? My conservative beliefs have served me very well over my life time. I retired when I was 54 and I’ve never looked back. I hope your beliefs serve you as well but our age difference tells me you have a long road in front of you. I wish you the best.

However even if they "felt" the same way about things, its more about the means to get there

You want a nanny, 3rd party, spending your money on the group.

Its very simple you see gtc, that is motherfucking inefficient.

Its not the ends but the means that most disagree with.
