Get rid of 9 & 10, ad Dave, Warren, & RR & make it a top 11.

Smoke them? How so?
Speed? (overated)
Talent? (Subjective)
Technique?

Curious

Also, I've never heard of either of them...What style do they play?

Any list without Brian May in the top 3 is bogus.

Wow... you've never heard of Al Di Meola and Pat Metheny, and you
claim to know great guitarists? Please.

The problem is, people are posting only Rock guitarists.

Al Di Meola is more jazz/rock fusion and Pat Metheny plays mostly
jazz.

I'm utterly amazed that people haven't heard of them.

Yes, I was posting only rock guitarists. I haven't heard enough jazz guitarists, or classical guitarists for that matter to include any of them.

The good thing about this, for me, anyways, is that you gave me 2 names that I've never heard of before: Al Di Meola and Pat Metheny

Now I'm gonna look them up and listen to some of their work. <><>

This list without SLASH is worthless. Also I agree with Angus just pulled AC/DC on youtube. The guy are pretty damn cool.

First of all, GnR is prolly my favorite band evah...
Not because of musical talent, but mebbe the range of their songs.

From a hard ass song like "Welcome to the Jungle" to the complete opposite in "Estranged".

I put Slash in the realm of Brian May.
Very recognizeable tone, and beautiful to listen to.

Then again, I'm kinda drunk at the moment :toast:

Pretty good list. My personal favorites are Eddie VH, Joe Satriani and George Lynch.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Michael Schenker.
