The publication of the photos is certain to infuriate Home Secretary Amber Rudd, who said on Wednesday she was 'irritated' by the early release of the bomber's name by US authorities .
She added that she had made it 'very clear' to American counterparts that no further leaks should happen.

WTF are the US doing. This is not their investigation. What kind of respect is this to our authorities?

Iain Dale (usually no fan of Trump) said on his LBC show that it's likely anti-Trump workers leaking it to make Trump's grip look weak on the US intelligence services, and it makes sense.

Photos of the bloodstained fragments from the bomb used in Manchester Arena have been leaked by American authorities, just hours after the Government issued a warning to the US not to release details of the terror investigation.
These pictures show the remnants of the backpack bomb terrorist Salman Abedi used to kill at least 22 people as they left an Ariana Grande concert on Monday night.
They show the 22-year-old suicide bomber appeared to have used a powerful explosive in a metal container during the atrocity.

Theresa May could raise the issue with President Donald Trump when they meet at the Nato summit in Brussels on Thursday.
Police and security agencies investigating the murder of 22 people by suicide bomber Salman Abedi on Monday regard it as crucial to the success of their operation to be able to control the release of information.
Abedi's name was circulating in the US media on Tuesday hours before it was confirmed by UK police, who had earlier urged reporters not to publish speculation about the bomber's identity.

Analysis of where people fell shows that most of the fatalities occurred in a nearly complete circle around the bomber

The photos show that a small handheld detonator was used to explode the bomb that is believed to have contained nails, nuts and bolts to ensure maximum casualties.
Officers were not able to specify the exact size or type of the bomb during initial investigations.
However, it appears to be an improvised device made with care, the New York Times reported.
Analysis of where people fell during the tragedy has revealed that most of the fatalities occurred in a nearly complete circle around the bomber.

Found on the bloodied floor of Manchester Arena was a detonator, shrapnel and a battery

Abedi's, torso blown up and out toward the Manchester Arena entrance.

Detectives believe that certain details of the bomb suggest the maker was careful to reduce the risk of it being a dud.
A destroyed Yuasa 12-volt, 2.1 amp lead acid battery was found at the scene.
The battery is more powerful than most seen in backpack bombs or suicide vests and is commonly used for emergency lighting. It can be bought for just a few pounds.

Abedi killed 22 people and injured at least 119 more when he detonated his bomb as children were piling out of the venue having watched American pop star Ariana Grande.
The mass-murderer had only just returned from a three-week trip to war-torn Libya before launching his horrifying attack, friends said.
The revelation came as his father, Ramadan, was arrested by masked gunmen in Tripoli this evening while recording TV interviews in the country.
Earlier he had claimed his son seemed 'normal' when they last spoke five days ago and insisted: 'We don't believe in killing innocents.'
Abedi's younger brother Hashem has also been arrested in Tripoli, Libya, on suspicion of having links to the ISIS who claimed responsibility for Monday night's atrocity.
He was 'aware of all the details' of his brother's plans, a Libyan security force said.

Extraordinary details about the bomb used in the Manchester atrocity have been published in the New York Times, almost all of it forensic evidence gathered by the British police at the scene.

A series of photographs of the remains of the bomb, the detonator and what appeared to be a rucksack were leaked. The preliminary investigation by the police is extremely detailed, down to the belief that the killer, Salman Abedi, held the small detonator in his left hand.

Suspicion on who leaked it to the US-based reporter rested on US officials, who have been feeding a series of details about the Manchester bombing to American journalists.

Leaking such inside information from the investigation will add to tensions between the US and UK over the extent to which much of the investigation is being leaked by authorities in America.

The latest revelations came hours after the home secretary, Amber Rudd, expressed irritation with the US and expressed hope that the leaks would stop.

[FONT=&quot]“The British police have been very clear that they want to control the flow of information in order to protect operational integrity, the element of surprise. So it is irritating if it gets released from other sources and I have been very clear with our friends that should not happen again,” the home secretary said.

The latest disclosures come on top of a series of leaks from USofficials about the British investigation, including the naming of the
killer.

The leak of the British information, as well as demonstrating a lack of respect for a US ally at an emotional time, will have hindered the investigation, where it is deemed essential to control the release of details.

UK counter-terrorism specialists say they needed to keep secret the name of a perpetrator or suspect for at least 36 hours to ensure there was an element of surprise in approaching relatives, friends and others.

The home secretary reflected the frustration and dismay of the UK security services in a series of interviews on Wednesday morning.

Adding to the sense of anger in the UK were further leaks from an NBC reporter who quoted US intelligence officials providing other details about the killer.

I doubt it as anything to do with anyone associated with Trump, and probably has something to do that Obama granted access to confidential information to a lot more people some 30 days before he left office

He said it was to enable 16 different agencies to share data to work together, not sure why it took 8 years to do this, but it appears it's now a very big weapon in the resist resist resist movement (probably even by design)
