I know turf toe is probably painful, but somewhere down the line, a team doctor can give 2 shots of novacaine (sp) and Lawson can play in the big game wouldn't you think? Our star quarterback in high school got his throwing arm shot up every friday night. I don't know exactly what the NCAA regulations are pretaining to painkiller use, but I feel more teams than you know would know ways to get around it.
There aren't any regulations against it, but there's more than turf toe to it. He has some broken bone fragments in there as well from a previous injury. Yeah, they could shoot him up like they did before the Duke game, but that is a last resort. He wouldn't feel any pain, but he could definitely do more damage to the toe. That's the mess UNC got in two weeks ago against Duke.
