The declared finished highway from Sabana to Santa Ana isn't even finished (they "declared" it finished just so they could start charging tolls, and now are finishing at a snails pace!). Pisses me off on principle when I have to pay c640 colones to literally cross the street (e.g. Pricesmart to Plaza Itskazu) when they have the underpass completely closed.

If you're speaking to me, you misunderstand. When they completely close the underpass (between Office Depot and Plaza Itskazu), which they've done several times, all eastbound traffic (from Guachipelin, Santa Ana, etc) must do a U-Turn thru the tolls (using the EPA exit & paying twice) to get to Plaza Itskazu, there is no other route.
I've been meaning to get an QuickPass from HSBC. Anyone got one yet? Although I'm confused if the QuickPass lanes are open at all hours.
hno:I have one. Works perfectly, I rarely get below 30kph when I'm going through the tolls. I've never come to the booths at any time and not found at least 3 of the 4 open. I shared all the doubts of the ability of CR to get this working well, but the quickpass is absolutely great.
Only issue is the idiots who think they've found the one open lane, ignore the people standing there pointing up at the "Quickpass exclusiva" sign, and then have to back out, or call someone over to help them.
My understanding is that once your balance gets to 2000 colones, it beeps 3 times when you go through instead of once. However, I also heard that right now, it isn't deducting the balance, but just tracking how much you owe and like wolfie says, you're supposed to call and check or something. Kinda confusing.
