I had the BEST restaurant/food expierence of my life, guess where I was? Niagra Falls NY...The West Door Steak House at the Seneca Niagra Casino. The food will make the hair on the back of your head stand up! I'm telling you, my last meal on earth MUST be EXPIERENCED at this restaurant.
Just a recap of what I had: French Onion soup, to literally die for; they must have cooked the beef stock for 2 days straight, if that's not enough they top it with gruyre cheese which adds a very nice sharpness to a usaully bold straight forward soup. You will cream in your shorts after you try this soup...
OOps, did I mention the assortment of flavors scones, homemade breads, rolls, spiced butters and cheeses that come before the soup? MY BAD...
I browsed the well rounded menu and decided to have the bone-in rib eye (20 oz dry aged prime cut) 27$, I would have given my first born, of which is due in December.. Their steaks are cooked like a steak lover expects, nicely chared, but cooked to the perfect temperature; the steak is served with a very nice accompaniment of stir fried julliene of veggies.
My wife ordered her steak medium well, I have never seen a mid well steak(very tough to get right)that was cooked better, including by me. The steaks are lightly drizzled with a very nice demi-glace, which was a perfect accent to set the charness of the steak off.
Ok, onto the buttermilk garlic mashed potatoes.. They tasted better then they sound..
To cap it all off we had some of the best coffee I've tasted. I've been to the Kona coffee farm in Hawaii and this was very comparible. They accompany their coffe with shaved chocolate, whipped cream, cream and sugar. We (3 of us) shared the cheesecake; it was mediocore, but my wife and mother-inlaw loved it..
Janice Okan gave The Westaern Door 3 1/2 stars, which is incredibly hard to get out of that Bittch :aktion033
