So far this season, the Celtics and Lakers are dominating the
league - with Cleveland trailing not too far behind.

Who will finish on top?

Right now it's hard not to say Cleveland.

Hey Zit...you trying to get another bet from me this year?

Cleveland will improve...

That Boston bet of not making the playoffs last year was probably the worst prediction I have ever made....I hope you put the cash to good use.....good luck this year..

Trevor Ariza is worth 5 points. Celtics backed up 2 losing Posey. Lakers win it this year.

Both Celtics and Lakers are better teams than
Cleveland right now.

Cleveland is looking damn good, and they go to another level in the playoffs because of LeBron James. They were the closest team to beating the Celtics last year, and were in the finals the year before, don't forget that.

Cleveland, Detroit, or Boston. To me the champ is coming out of the East. It'll be one of these three teams.

If I had to pick a West team it would be LA, NOH or Utah. Portland will be the class of the West in a year or two though, they're just too young to make a run this year imo.

VD,

Glad to see you made it back from your world travels. I'm not sure what
I did with the money from last season, it's probably lost in the stock
market. :)

I assume you are a Phillies fan? Congrats on the world series!

The City of Philly needed that...that's why I think Cleveland might surprise in the NBA because James will leave in 2010...Cleveland is starving for a winner and the window is closing soon for the Cavs...

Hmm. Do you still think Portland after Boston absolutely
crushed them last night?

"They're the world champions," said Oden, who had just five points and six rebounds in 18 minutes before fouling out with 3:46 left. "We came in here wanting to see where we're at, and we're not there yet."

All the commentators on ESPN last night said Boston is clearly
the best team in the NBA right now, for what that is worth.

cleveland is intriguing for two reasons:

first and foremost, this is the most dominant they have looked for an extended stretch in franchise history. obviously a lot of their history has been dogshit. but this is the first time where they look like a dominant TEAM, as opposed to 'well, lebron might be able to carry them .....'

second, they are itching to bring that the marquee player on board to get them over the hump. the name vince carter keeps floating around (... although the nets are surprisingly competitive early on this year)

on a side note, the impact williams had made on the team is remarkable.

boston is still the favorite and deservedly so. but the central is so weak that the cavs could keep this torrid pace up all season and challenge for home court, which is bigger in bball than any other sport.
