Long time lurker, first time Costa Rican Forum Poster.
I am a Cali transplant now living in Atlanta and have been coming to CR when the airport terminal was a sorry Quonset hut and you could breeze through Customs in minutes.
I have two very good friends who are opening KOKOMOS restaurant and CENTERFOLDS, a gentlemen's club in downtown Jaco and I'm giving them a shout out.
Today's Grand Opening will feature $1.00 Margaritas and Happy Hour 2 for 1 Everyday, and no, that's not a misprint. KOKOMOS, the restaurant has monster 50" plus TV's and a killer sound system and there is not a bad set in the house.. The kitchen is open with local specialties and always fresh fish. Both owners are ardent fishermen and will have their freezers stocked with the "fresh catch of the day."
I have know both owners for over 15- years... and besides their Georgia Bulldog fascination, they are both fun loving, live-life-to-the-fullest individuals. You might even hear a little George Straight and Hank Williams Senior on the stereo system, but they are basic redneck rock and rollers.
CENTERFOLDS, the gentlemen's club, will be a Las Vegas type of gentlemen's club. Everything from the jet decibel stereo system to the lasers and lights is top shelf. CENTERFOLDS will open shortly and will be the top gentlemen's club in Central America. And they will be open late into the night, er, morning.
I know this is a blatant marketing post, but they have spared no expense in making KOKOMOS/CENTERFOLDS one helluva dining and entertainment experience and deserve a plug from the RXers. Guaranteed you will be pampered outrageously with their Southern hospitality and the good vibrations at KOKOMOS/CENTERFOLDS. And the best is still to come...

Hey sir, as you can see, the RX is not a friendly place, ESPECIALLY the CR section, main reason why the subforum is dead, because of all the cunts posting negative stuff all the time. They drove this place to the ground.

Mods should control who is able to post in the sub forum more often.

You know, what was being said about you wasn't going to influence my decision to visit your bar in the least bit. As a non-brain dead customer, unless a criticism holds something that raises a red flag, I find it to be just noise.


But your reply man... it makes me want to never visit.


Why?


Because you came here with a bad attitude.


Let me write a quick reply that you COULD have used to sell people, instead of alienate potential customers (the wording is irrelevant, but the tone is everything):


"Wow, I totally missed this thread. We were REALLY busy with the grand opening, it was a great party and I'm sorry you all missed it. In terms of the cynicism towards our bar, I completely understand!


Starting a business, and having it work, is going against the odds.

You know, just to clarify, a lot of posters in this thread I don't have a beef with, sorry if the "cunts" comment sounded generalized. I think I was trigger happy 2 hours ago lol.

Worldstage I don't like McD's that much but I'll accept a triple texan whopper with extra pickles and extra bacon.

I think the attitude in general at the CR forum is to bash and mock just because, it just seems really unnecessary to me and one of the main reasons why this sub forum is as dead as Jimmy Hoffa (not to mention offshore books scene is dying in CR).

Just my 2 cents.

Also, to clarify, judgewapner is a class act and not cuntlike at all... NES is a ball buster and we had our differences but from what I hear he is a noble guy. Internet sometimes brings the worst in people, I'm not excluded.

Its clear as day to any of us that know anything about Costa Rica that this will fail.

Being a tough guy will only accelerate the inevitable.

How many gringos over the years have had this dream of opening a strip club? Strip clubs are whore houses anywhere south of the US border which just complicates things even more by a factor of 100x.

The lucky ones went broke. The others left in body bags or simply went missing.

Jaco is littered with a history of failed strip clubs started by experienced local operators.

Tango India - who knows the strip club business better than anybody in the country - has repeatedly balked at "opportunities" in Jaco.

Fact is - and I'm not saying this to be mean its just the truth - this is a near certain failure. Its a tricky business to run in a seasonal beach town without a steady critical mass of customers or talent.

If by some miracle it starts to do well the lineup of very very bad people with their hands out will ruin any shot at making a profit in a hurry.

I think the Tango India guy actually started a club down there once (or maybe it was a Pelufo's joint, which now that I think about it, is probably correct). The last bit before you take the first right to get down toward Jaco from the north side... there was a strip club on the right before that, maybe 300-400 meters before. I heard it did well for a month or two... went down to visit with a couple of friends and it was already closed! hahaha

The last bit before you take the first right to get down toward Jaco from the north side... there was a strip club on the right before that, maybe 300-400 meters before. I heard it did well for a month or two... went down to visit with a couple of friends and it was already closed! hahaha

They did well for three days....then Judge Wapner and myself went back to San Jose and they laid 6 girls off.....they never recovered.......
