Preseason is gone as I ended up at 50% getting ready for regular season which I will start a new record for the real games. Right now I have only 3 plays that stands out but may add on during the week.

Tampa Bay +6....Gruden is starting to put his team in place and have shown signs of being a very good offense. Vikings added a lot of pieces to the defense but feel it may be awhile before they put it together. Bucs are a little under the radar but feel they could be a live dog in this one. This should be a field goal game either way but in terms of the spread, I will take the better defense, better coach, and maybe equal offense in this one.

Seattle +3.5 (buy 1/2pt)....Jacksonville is up and coming but feel that Seahawks may be getting disrespected going into Week 1. Many imo will be on Jacksonville so this number may grow. I like Seattle's offense and especially the physical running of Alexander to control the game offensively and eventually wear down the Jacksonville defense. Wrong team is favored here as the scoreboard will show.

Dallas +4.5....Cowboys defense will not get give Brees anytime to throw in this one especially without Antonio Gates who is Brees safety valve. I see a tight competitive game but feel Parcells really once to get started on a winning note here and finds a way to get it done.

I am looking at others and will rate Killer plays later in the week.

the bucs,

A survivor pick I would go with would be Buffalo Bills which is one of the only favorites I am considering playing. Texans are a horrid road team while Buffalo started to establish at the end of ly a nice home field advantage often winning by dd. A second consideration would be the Giants. Any place in the NFC East has been a house of horrors for the Cards over the years and NY also has not been kind to Denny Green when at Minnesota. Those would be my 2 considerations.

rw,

I am due as I have been lukewarm for about 3 weeks now. I think the worm is about to turn. Best of luck.

I think you are right about the Cowboys, that should be a very tight game.

Hey Kojak - nice bit about the Texans and Cards on the road. I forgot about Denny Green's struggles in NY.

Love the Cards in this spot.I'm not sure if Denny Greens past results in NY means anything. To me it doesn't. Two different teams.

azg04 - if you like Oakland -7.5 (-120) then you should load up on them at the actual line of +7.5 and hit the ML hard also.

Wow!! What a call!

I have to disagree

Kojak - I have to go the other way on the MN / TB pick. I know I sound like a homer here, but I like MN by 10.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p>

MN may have a tough time running the ball with Birk out. <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City><st1:place>Tampa</st1:place></st1:City> wins the running battle hands down. That being said, I think Culpepper will light it up. MN has a huge advantage in the passing game. I’m not a big fan of Griese I think he is mediocre at best. I like what <st1:City><st1:place>Tampa</st1:place></st1:City> tried to do at receiver with Ike, but I’m thinking <st1:place>Galloway</st1:place> is getting old. MN WR corp got a lot younger, and I think will play better as a team without Moss.

<o:p> </o:p>

MN defense didn't show a lot in the preseason. One thing they did show was the ability to play something other than zone coverage. I think you will see more aggression than was shown in the past 4-5 years. . <st1:City><st1:place>Tampa</st1:place></st1:City> starting Chris Hovan on the line. . . What Are They Thinking??? I do not like that off season move for TB. I think the defensive battle is up in the air – slight edge with MN because they will be going against a weaker offense.

Adding to make my total card for Week 1....

Cleveland +3.5....I really think that Bengals are the better team but in Week 1 on road where they struggle vs rival will be a bit much to cover a favorite spread here. Crennel's team's defense looked good in preseason and though they will play a tight game here, I really feel they may be a live home dog in this one.

Buffalo -5.5.....Bills made a big statement at home in 2nd half ly. Texans have been a very poor road team including preseason this year. I feel Bills defense will suffocate the Texans offense putting immense pressure on Carr and their offensive line and will win the turnover battle cruising to a double digit home win.

New Orleans +7....Saints were 5-3 su on the road ly. There has been a lot of talk of this team not being ready to play but I am one who thinks the opposite. I think Carolina still has too many questions to answer offensively and feel at least early in the season there will be some value with this team. Saints won last game of year at Carolina and believe there is no reason why they can't do it again.

Pittsburgh/Tennessee over 39.5....Feel the offenses will be up to the task in a potential surprising shootout in this one.

Dallas/San Diego over 40.5....Another game that there will be plenty of points. SD defense will struggle vs Julius Jones as will Cowboys vs L.T. Play action passes will be used to hold up pass rushers and some big plays down the field will be open as more points than expected in this one as well.

thumperdragon,

Things are fine here in Chi town. Here are my thoughts on Skins/Bears. Washington has owned the Bears for quite awhile now. Skins defense should suffocate Orton and company. Bears defense should probably do the same. Value seems to be with Bears at 6 points but I am not playing as have feeling Skins do it to them again. Skins are money on home openers as well regardless of how good team is. Under may be the play but would not touch side. Best of luck.

Thank Kojak, I have a hard time betting against my bears. My original thought was to pass on it but I did pick the Skins in the Last Man Standing Contest. I think I've jinxed myself. Wish me luck:kicking: :lolBIG:
