Well I already have some early plays for Week of Sept 17. So far record stands at 33-22-1 for +13.0 units which includes 10-7-1 on Kojak Killers and 23-15 on regular plays. I won't be rating any games as Killer plays until later in the week but will give my early plays now.

Central Florida +9.5 @ South Florida.....Yes, it is time for George O'Leary to get off the schnide and win his first game at UCF. His team played very hard at South Carolina and expect them regardless of winning su here or not to be a covering machine until they win a game.

Florida State +1.5 @ Boston College....This will be a very tight game throughout but Seminoles will give BC first loss in this one as what Coach LT mentioned in seperate thread that the Bobby's crew is going north for this one. Also, don't believe that Seminoles will let that Miami win go for nothing this early in the season and will gut out a tough game as difference will be the speed of FSU!

Central Michigan +24 @ Penn State....Not only will CMU cover, Nittany Lions better be very careful in this one as CMU could be the MAC sleeper this year. Both have solid defenses against the run so whoever's quarterback makes the plays will win. Assume Robinson will but definitely enough to cover number in this one.

Rutgers -21 @ Buffalo- Rutgers has way too much offense for Buffalo who is still looking for their first point of the season going into their third game. They will get on the board this week but unfortunately for them they will be playing the best offense to date in Scarlet Knights who roll easily to victory in this one.

Akron +7 @ Middle Tennessee State....Akron showed some definite offensive signs against very good Purdue defense. Middle Tennessee has struggled to score. Very little homefield advantage here as Akron is very live in this one.

UCONN +17 @ Georgia Tech....We have two very good defenses going in this one which will keep it nice and tight. Difference will be Ball and Daniels who will wear them out in the end but not enough to cover the 17.

Miami, Ohio -5.5 @ Kent State....It is time to circle the wagons for the senior laden Redhawks who have started off 0-2. Fortunately for them, they get Kent on the schedule who they will begin to regain their swagger in a fairly easy win which I expect to be near 3 touchdowns in this one.

I will definitely have more plays as the week goes on but these are the early games.

Like most of the picks Kojak... was wondering if you have any thoughts on Kentucky +3 @ Indiana... Kentucky seems to be improved this year (despite the poor showing Sat.) and killed virtually the same Indiana team last year. I kind of like Kentucky getting the points. Do you have any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Adding 3 more....

Illinois +21 @ California....Fighting Illini have never lost su at Berkeley or ats. They have a lot of momentum going from first 2 games. They likely will lose su here but won't ats which is what matters as Cal win at Washington is not as impressive as it first looks.

North Carolina +3.5 vs Wisconsin....Badgers finally hit the road to face a big conference team and will find it tough sledding in this one. Baker is very capable with their talented receivers to score with Badgers. Key will be special teams and if they can contain Williams. I believe they will do all the things needed to pull the su home upset over the Badgers.

Clemson +6.5 vs Miami,Florida.....Clemson is gaining momentum for a big season with wins over Texas A&M and Maryland (nemisis). Miami has not been 0-2 for decades but feel they will leave Death Valley with no victory as the character being gained by Clemson continues to carry over for su win.

magic,

I think both of these teams are very below avg bcs teams. I really feel that Indiana will turn it around this year vs Kentucky. This will be Wildcats first road game and showed very poorly at home vs Idaho State. Indiana looked poor also but feel Coach Hoeppner is selling these kids on what a 3-0 pre Big 10 conference start will mean. I feel he is a better coach than Brooks who has shown he will be gone very soon. Hoosiers win this surprisingly easy imo. Best of luck.

Adding 6 games....

SMU +28.5 @ Texas A&M....Ponies will give a valiant effort in this one as Aggies are a little overrated

Northwestern +15.5 @ Arizona State....Wildcats will keep it much closer than expected in this shootout

Arkansas State +24.5 @ Oklahoma St.- Cowboys struggle to score while Arkansas State is decent offensively as I expect this spread is about 10 points off

Purdue -7.5...Boilers' defense was embarrassed last week and will come out strong in this one as Boilers roll on their way to Minnesota

New Mexico State +23.5 vs New Mexico.....Aggies getting this many in arch rival matchup is way too many vs Aggies team that does little to inspire on either side of the ball

North Texas -5.5 vs Tulsa....Tulsa can stop the run but can they stop 2 top rb's , I don't think so as Tulsa blew their wad at OU

Kojak,

Thanks for your thoughts on the Indiana / Kentucky game... IU's win at Central Michigan doesnt look that bad now after the win at Miami OH... although, I am with you on Miami OH this week. I'll gladly lay the small number @ Kent.

Do you have any thoughts on Wake Forest -13 vs. East Carolina? EC is dreadful on the road and has all sorts of problems against the run. I was in Lincoln for the WF Nebraska game and if not for dumb plays by their offense, they were totally in that game. WF never really blows teams out but I think theres a good chance they win this 38-17 or so.

Many thanks Kojak.

Hey Jack,

I like your Northwestern selection. If you seen my posts since I joined this board I have been against Penn State both weeks because Joe Pa is way past his primce and once again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! his team is laying alot of wood to a descent team. I follow Rutgers closely and by game time I have a feeling that game will go up to 24 points. Rutgers defense gave up 450 yards to 1-AA Villanova this past weekend. Buffalos first home game and a soft Rutgers defense and also suspect coaching makes me want to wait and maybe grab 24 points as a home dog. Well see but Penn State just is not worthy of being a big favorite anymore.

Mr. Poops,

I think Northwestern is definitely live in this one. Rutgers will give up some yards to Buffalo but Buffalo's offense is anemic scoring 0 points in 2 games vs Syracuse and UCONN. I don't think they can score enough. Best of luck.

I see a lot of value in the non tv games this week as many of these lines are way off imo. Best of luck.

I'm glad you're looking at North Carolina vs. Wisconsin

I'm thinking this is a trap game.
