Wasn't the MVP voting done by fans? I swear I saw something come on the screen saying I could text my vote in the 4th quarter.

Guess this was just another David Stern presentation. NBA must be getting tips from Vince Mcmahon on how to build story lines and great endings.

In a fair world Paul should have gotten a piece of the MVP action. 14 pts, 14 assists along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals is more deserving than Kobe "I shoot everytime because I want to win the mvp" Bryant and Shaq's dunk-a-thon. Oh well he didn't fit the storyline.

When stuff like this happens in the NBA......why wouldnt people suspect it to be fixed? After all, this is the same league that gave us Tim Donaghy......And they wonder why the NBA ratings are down and why the Pro Bowl can beat Lebron vs Kobe in the same time slot....I just think people are tired of this bad product.....they want Celtics-Lakers they got it last year....Paul Pierce being a drama queen....more story lines....and espn jamming the nba down our throats....I honestly dont think many more people goto NBA games than NHL games....I just think they televise the NBA more to make us think people care, when in reality, they dont. If espn put as much time into the NHL as the NBA I bet people would think everyone watches the NHL. In reality, we are a football nation. The NFL doesnt have to so called fix* or root for teams to make the Finals or Superbowl. People will watch regardless of whos in it......and before anyone says anything, I had nothing else better to do for 10 mins than to write my thoughts on this...

all professional athletes are people 1st. regardless of what team they play for or how good they are, everyone is a person 1st. and being a person there will be likes, dislikes, friendships, rivalries and just plain bad blood between players. its a part of life. and with espn having such a in depth analysis of everything it is easy for them to create rating by blowing things up and out of proportion. it is all basic marketing but it is entertaining and easy to buy it all. i do agree with you gasm on the fact if espn promoted hockey more people would start to be more interested and hockey rating would increase. by why fight nba, nfl or mlb those are already the big 3 making money so why not stick with em. if it aint broken dont fix it
