I guess we shouldn't be surprised that he would want his own H/C job again after the disaster in Knoxville. What I find interesting is how he jumps from
one "football culture" to the next. He was breast-fed on the West Coast and then made a move to the South (the SEC) and now Texas. He seems to be immuned from culture shock. I can't wait for that first clash between his Cougars and the Sooners.

L5Y, USC is 4-0 vs SEC, outscoring them 167-48!!!

He truly f'd over Tennessee when he left under the cover of darkness. None the less some argue he had them headed in the right direction before he bolted back to USC. Gotta give it to the guy, he doesn't slow play his chips.

Not knocking Kiffin but because he is so brash, and has a huge ego, he'll fit in well at UH. Us Texans tend to be very brash.

I'm not sure about that "WinOne"; I always felt that You and JBLonghorn (and a few other Texans) are decent people on any given day, especially on the Sabbath; It's on Saturdays, during the college football season when you often lose your sense of reason and balance and all hell can break-loose. LOL

Good luck to you during the Bowls & Play-Offs.

Ya'll don't drive too good in the snow as well.

You've obviously been to the Texas Panhandle during the winter, LOL. I'm amazed that Houston could match his salary at Bama, I would think the Tide were paying him in the area of 2MM. I personally see this as a step down, but hey, WTF do I know.

Well, hopefully Kiffin has learned something in the last couple of years. Here is his recruiting rankings and record at USC before he got canned. Notice how he progressively got worse in recruiting. Would he have done better without probation? That's the million dollar question.

2010: #1 Team record: 8-5/5-4
2011 #4 Team record: 10-2/7-2
2012: #8 Team record: 7-6/5-4 (L bowl game)
2013: #13 Team record 3-2/0-2 (he was fired then)

Kiff is a fun-loving guy at practice. That's what makes him so popular with the players.

Anyone else thinks this could negatively impact Bama's chances at championship this season?

Well, I watched seven of their games this year (on TV of course) and it looked like, to me, that he called all the O-plays because I saw him and Saban get into it more than once. So IMHO, I'd say it ain't gonna help. I'd be willing to bet Saban isn't happy about the timing.

Houston wants excessive buyout clause for next head coach.

University of Houston officials, including president Renu Khator, are scheduled to meet on Thursday night to discuss the finalists for the football team's head-coaching position, sources told ESPN.Athletic director Hunter Yurachek and board of regents chair Tilman J. Fertitta will meet with Khator, regarding the three coaches who have emerged as finalists: Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, Houston offensive coordinator Major Applewhite and Houston defensive coordinator Todd Orlando.
Houston wants to require an excessive buyout so the next coach can't leave after a couple of seasons without paying a substantial penalty, a source said.
Kiffin has indicated to others that he's optimistic he will be the next coach at Houston, but no decision had been reached as of Thursday morning. Alabama coach Nick Saban said Thursday afternoon that he had not heard if Kiffin has the job, but he is supportive of his assistant getting an opportunity to be a head coach again.
Former LSU coach Les Miles and Oklahoma offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley also interviewed for the Houston job, sources said.
The Cougars are looking for a replacement for Tom Herman, who left after two seasons to become the head coach at Texas.
