He is in Texas LOL

Chuck Hayes scored 22 points and Erik Daniels added 19 as Kentucky used a second-half surge to run away from Indiana 80-41 today at the RCA Dome.

The Hoosiers trailed only 32-26 at the half, but Kentucky (6-0) scored the first nine points of the second half and never looked back.

Bracey Wright led Indiana (4-4) with 23 points and Sean Kline added 15, but they got no support as no other player scored more than two points.

Kentucky (No. 1 in USA Today/ESPN and No. 2 in AP) dominated the frontcourt and took advantage of its height and quickness to thoroughly dominate the Hoosiers in the second half. The Wildcats shot 54 percent from the field while holding the Hoosiers to just 24 percent.

I think most reasonable people are starting to see that Indiana made a HUGE mistake hiring Mike Davis.
People are afraid to approach this subject head on because of the race issue.
Fact is, whatever color he may be, he is not worth a crap. Can you imagine a program with the history of Indiana being dumb enough to settle for a moron with NO head coaching experience.
Some of the so called "blue chippers" that Davis has lined up for next year will no doubt bail when thay see what a joke the program will be this year.
Indiana better start begging some alums for the dough to buy Davis out or this will be big time Ugly for a few years. And for a few more when a REAL leader comes in and has to rebuild from all the harm Davis has done!

Davis was labled the recruiter LMAO. Only reason he got any recruits was cause the players wanted to go and play for coach knight.

General, once again, you are shoving your foot in your mouth. Hows it taste? Yeah all the great recruits wanted to go play for Knight, when they got there, they left? Recker(who was Indiana born and bred, Collier, Reid).

I loved Coach Knight, but the thing was we were mediocre with him the last 6 years(3 frickin NCAA tourney wins, in that span by the way in NCAA play, lost to St Johns by 25, Pepperdine by 20, UConn by 10, Colorado by 18, Boston College by 13!!!!!-PRETTY GROSS HUH????). Boy it was great getting pasted by Pepperdine by 20 some points in the NCAA, or getting drilled by a midlevel Big 12 team in Colorado. I'd much rather get pasted by Kentucky when you have 1 senior playing.

And actually, speaking of Knights last great recruit, JJ didnt want to go there. He almost went to Duke, but it took Davis's begging and saying that Knight wouldnt be a hardass on him to get him to come.

Packer- how are they going to bail on signed LOIs? DJ White(Top 10) is good family friends with Coach Davis, yeah I am sure he is going to bail. Robert Vaden also good friends with Coach Davis, I am sure he is going to bail on him too. RObert Vaden would be going to Purdue if Knight wouldnt have gotten fired.

Didnt IU just win at Notre Dame? or beat a good Xavier team? The team has a frontcourt talent level of frickin Iona(and I could be doing Iona a disservice), what do you guys expect from this team? Who gives a shit if IU gets beat by 39, a L is a L, and 4-4 is exactly where most IU fans thought they would be.

I'm not saying Davis is a great coach, because he is not yet. Knight is 10x the coach Davis is and ever will be, But the fact is, in Knight's last 6 years, we were crap year in year out(with some decent talent years, unlike this year), and Davis has twice the NCAA wins in his 3 years.

General-Davis labeled the recruiter?? Yeah I'm the one LMAO. Or did you not know that Davis became the 3rd coach to land 5 top 100 recruits in one class.(Michigan 92, Duke 99?) The question does remain if Josh Smith will go to the NBA though, still IU would have a top 3 class next year without him.

General-How has Bobby done in the NCAAs down in Texas so far. LMFAO. Poor Bobby, no one wants to watch his team play.

Thank for the opinion Matt. I respect that.

Enjoy the next 6 years, but there is hope that Davis may be replaced. Even then, I doubt Indiana will ever see the glamour that it seen when The General was there.

Good luck with the Hoosiers.

Hey, don't worry about this. It will be different when Davis realizes his dream of becoming an NBA coach. HA HA!

General,

Kudos to you for realizing everyone is entitled to their opinion. I find your opinion and loyalty consistant with most IU fans that feel they have been wronged by poor administration. I have seen Matt's diatribe in other threads. His opinions share a common thread with most Knight haters, that is facts are twisted or ignored to support one's position.

I said from day 1 of Davis's tenure, it would not be fare to judge his ability to recruit and coach during his first three years on the job. This is year #4 and we are seeing what I thought we would see, unfortunately.

Well the Red Raiders are 9-2 with a big game on deck Monday with Iowa. This young, exciting, and at times frustrating bunch of Red Raiders remind me of the talent Knight was assembling at IU with Newton, Haston, Leach, Jeffries, Fife, Owens, Madison etal. Go TT, GUNS UP!

NCAAHoopster? Did you just call me a Knight Hater? Did that just happen?? ARE YOU ****IN KIDDIN ME? I have supported him to people for frickin years, backed him in every way, and I still do! I would love to have Coach Knight still coaching at IU, but he isn't and I got over it and moved on. You find General's loyalty consistent with most IU fans??? ARe you kiddin me???? Most IU fans dislike Indiana now?? and only root for Texas Tech???

All I did was point out facts, where are yours? Can you please tell me about my twisted facts? Please?!?

Seriously, this wasnt meant to be so harsh, but you kind of attacked me and forgot to bring the bullets? And some things you said are actually completely false.(what I already said about "most" IU fans)

Boys, boys,....boys.....I always find great humor when people start talking about Bobby Knight. He is one of the most colorful coaches in the game and I'm sure most of us missed him when he left IU and was not coaching for awhile. I know I did. I missed his hate directed towards the media and his witty comments. Bobby Knight is good for college basketball even though some may personally not care for how he treats his players during a game. But that is another issue.

I want to address some comments made in this thread. Packer...you are right on in your comments!

The General...I must agree as well!

Matt24.... where are you really coming from? I mean, did you ever think that Knight's recruits really wanted to play for him but once they got in the program found it hard to tough it out because they had personality clash with Bobby?
icon_eek.gif
Big surprise there, huh?

The bottom line is really this....Mike Davis is a recuriter masking as a head coach. His team is a joke even with all this "supposed talent" he has now and has coming over the next few years. Anyone who knows anything about basketball just has to watch IU play a couple of games to see just how piss poor Mike Davis really is as a coach. At least Knight could coach and tell his team what needed to be done. I don't see that with the Davis team. I see a lot of chaos and just standing around waiting for Bracey Wright to get open and try to score. That is not good basketball where I come from. And guess what???? I'm an IU grad and know a little about the game.

It's a joke IU hired Davis and not a coach who has some actual coaching experience. ncaahoopster.... Your comment directed about needing 3 or 4 years to see how Davis pans out makes me laugh. Big Time hoop programs don't wait 3 or 4 years on a new guy. That's small college shit. Look what Knight did with a bunch of project type kids at TT. Big-Time Coach= Results a lot faster than some "recuriter" who got promoted into a Big-Time Program.

Don't confuse people such as myself as a "Knight hater" or "IU basher". We are bitter about what has happened to the program and dissapointed with the results as we look to the future with not much hope. IU won't make it to the NCAA tourney this year with the team they are currently puting on the floor. IU sucks really bad and nobody will vent at the tv when they are on more than me. It's really hard to watch them play....but there is a silver lining in every cloud. It currently comes in the form of a book maker and I never lose sight of where my true loyality really lies..."In God We Trust". My best friends are found in places like my wallet. They carry names like "Franklin"..."Grant"...and "Jackson". That is who I can trust always and not some pretend program where my "heart" is, called IU.

In closing just remember you must live for today and plan for tomorrow. We are all listed as "Day to Day" in the game of life and if your reading this you in the game...make the most of it and good luck!

Where I am coming from? I dont know what you mean. All I did was point out facts. Right now, IU sucks, but the thing is, the team has no talent right now in the frontcourt. This year, the huge thing was for this team to be successful, George Leach must step up, instead he gets injured and has missed the last 5 games. He is one senior and the other is AJ Moye, whose father is fighting for his life currently. I just think everyone should wait til Leach gets back and after the entire season to get all riled up. If Leach was healthy and we were getting drilled like this, than it would be a bigger concern, but with him back, all of a sudden it gets a little harder to score inside. This season is not over, they are 4-4. Now if they don't win thier next 3, then its time for some more concern. Not after losing to 4 teams who are a combined 24-1. I mean Purdue just got beat as 16 pt favorites.

For those "Bobby is mean to the kids" people. The US Government thinks they are Men at 18 and if they can't handle a little hands on discipline, maybe they should choose the hair dressing or ballet dancing fields instead. LOL

With all due respect, what's with all the Knight fans being so concerned about IU these days? Worry about your own team. They need some fans. lol
