Songbird won't be running in the derby......the owner wants no part of it. She's running in the Santa Anita Oaks & then Kentucky Oaks.

As for futures for the derby, I hate playing them because of injuries, but I like Frank Conversation (25-1)......Greenpointcrusader (25-1)........Suddenbreakingnews (17-1)......Smokey Image (17-1)..........these are my 4 derby horses as of now, but as we all know, things can drastically change within the next 2 months.

Mor spirit settled really nicely last time . He has a good cruising speed and moves well. Distance shouldn't be an issue as he looks like he wants longer . Songbird was scary good Saturday . Real good filly. Beholder will need her A game should they meet in the summer / fall

Things change sometimes... American pharaoh running in the travers for example . If you can win the derby . You go for it . If Rachel had gone , she woukd a drowned them

The Florida derby is a match race......the San Felipe has 5 really good horses racing this Saturday.

Baffert winning the derby the year after winning the triple crown would be insane! Just don't see it happening.........

Songbird connections have 2 mos to change their minds, I can see her running anyway. She would win the Oaks by 22 lgts. Whatever you do guys, don't be slamming Mohaymen at 4/1, prob get at least that on Derby Day IF he shows up in first place! Lots of things can happen between now and then. The horse actually going to post is half the battle. Countless favorites and heavies never make it into the gate.

I would love to see Songbird run in the KD.......last time a filly won was Winning Colors in 1988 with Gary Steven aboard.......I definitely think we are due for another filly.

Was hoping Rachel Alexander would have ran in 2009, instead she smoked the boys in the Preakness.
