Preseason: 1-0

Just going off the QB comparions I am going to be going with Green Bay here. Kansas City did little in the off season to upgrade their horrid defense. Makes me wonder what kind of garbage player makes their second and third teams. Priest Holmes will play sparingly as will Ahman Green. Larry Johnson running behind a second string O-line isn't going to cut it for the Chiefs. He can't brek open a game like the Priest. The Packers are pretty thin at RB as well, but I think this game will hing on QB performance. Akilli Smith against 3rd stringers will actually make him look good.

Thanks General. By the way, did you used to be in the Marines? If so what unit were you in?

Wow, Joe Public is really hammering the Chiefs tonight. All the way up to 3 at SIA. This is the most line movement I think I have seen in the 4 years I have been betting on a preseason game.

I think the Chiefs did upgrade their defense: brought in two defenders who they hope will be major contributors. Weak-side LB-Shawn Barber brings some much-needed speed and athleticism to the LB corps, and RDE Vonnie Holliday should help vs. the run. Barber's arrival allowed the Chiefs to move Maslowski from the weak side into the middle. Scott Fujita, who started nine games last year, holds the strong-side job that once belonged to Lew Bush. The job of former starting NT-Ransom could be in jeopardy. The emergence of rookies Jimmy Wilkerson and Tank Reese gives the Chiefs depth on the line. Dexter McCleon figures to be the nickel back if he doesn't unseat CB-William Bartee. "We're much faster," coach Dick Vermeil says. "We really run a lot better."

That being said, I too go with GB tonite because of the QB rotations. As you said, Akili Smith (disappointing as a starter) will do well in Q4 vs 3rd and 4th stringers.

Shawn Barber is good, yes. Great? A shut down, change the game LB? NO... Vonnie Holliday is nothing, he is tough against the run though, you are right. I mean come on, all these guys you named off are scrubs except the above two. I just think the Packers are a deeper more disciplined team then the Chiefs. I don't bet big in the preseason anyway. Just need some action on it to keep me awake at 2 am when I have to be at work by 6.

Cool, I was in from 95-99. Hawaii and Okinawa mostly. You must have been an air wing guy I take it.

No action, first time I have been involved with anything like this. You have no idea how mad I was here in Germany up at 2 am watching this game and watching it get called. Sure am glad I didn't bet this one at SIA, apparently they are taking from the losers and calling no action on the winners.
