"Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.” These words uttered by Rove drove the lunatic left bonkers. But are they really that far off?
Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) has preposterously stated that “We cannot hope to end terrorism by killing terrorists.” Instead, his bright idea to fight terrorism is “to reduce poverty worldwide.” Good thinking: The real way to win the War on Terror is to make terrorists richer! I think I’ll stick to killing them, Dennis.

Howard Dean, the Democratic Party’s own Chairman, believed that the War on Terror was to be fought out in the courts. "I've resisted pronouncing a sentence before guilt is found," he said. "I will have this old-fashioned notion that even with people like Osama [bin Laden], who is very likely to be found guilty, we should do our best not to, in positions of executive power, not to prejudge jury trials." That’s right: Osama needs a trial. Dean isn’t even entirely sure that Osama bin Laden is guilty (just “very likely to be found guilty…”)
It is also important to remember that practically no liberals support the war in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

They only go to war when thousands of Americans have already perished.

Karl Rove’s statements weren’t quite as outrageous as liberals think. A more truthful statement would have been that liberals responded to 9/11 by wanting to make sure it happened again. They supported Bush’s attack on the Taliban, but wanted to make sure </EM>that we went nowhere else. They wanted to attack our direct attackers, but not the people who be attacking us 10 years from now. They wanted to destroy Al-Qaeda, but not those who harbor them and support them. This is the essence of liberal’s position on the War on Terror: They are committed to making sure another 9/11 happens. They are committed to making sure that our future generations are killed in ruthless acts of violence. Their strategy against terrorism is this: Respond by doing as little as you must as quickly as you can.
