My guess is you need the DVI cable (same cable for digital connection on a PC video card). I had the cable guy come to my house 3 times with 3 cable boxes before they figured out the the DVI port is not "activated" on the boxes they use. Im not getting HD until my cable co uses the right ports..or i switch to satellite.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the DVI required to get the HD channels working properly and not for the nonHD channels?

Like I said in my other post in this thread. The analog channels aren't going to look very sharp on HD sets (using HD technology). The technology is in the process of converting these channels to digital. Until then, you may have to live with it.

This is typical of a projection or plasma tv. Everything looks like crap except HDTV. I have stayed with a tube set. I have the widescreen Sony 34 inch XBR-Pro. A great HDTV picture, better than projection and close to a plasma and very acceptable digital picture. It will take many years for all stations to go digital on cable. Satellite is all digital but even that won't help when viewing a projection TV unless it's HDTV.
