Just blows my mind how many have jumped off the Wings train.

They shutout the BJ's, easily handled the Ducks and just took out the Hawks in 5 missing half their all-star lineup. Their playing very very well guys. Nicks back on sat. and datsyuk shortly after. Even if they drop one at home. This team is extremely deep and talented. The Pens are missing Whitney and as stated by some Pen fans....Gill is a liability. Their not going to be able to hide him against 4 strong lines that can all score. Anaheims D was stellar, Chicagos was quick, mobile and talented as well. This Penguins defence is no where NEAR as good as these 2. Wait till their possession game gets Orpik and Gonchar tired. The flood gates are going to open up. And they are very familur with this team. Dan Bylsma has done a fantastic job with this club. He's about to face something he's never dealt with as long as he's been coaching. And how long has that been again?

Detroit -$155 for the series is like stealing money.

They may want to avenge the Hossa situation with all their might. But their talent will only take them so far.

Eugene Malkin....meet Nick Kronwall.

Chris Kunitz....meet Brad Stuart!

Darrin Helm....welcome to Pittsburgh.

Stealing money at -155 with Osgood in Net???

I couldn't back Osgood at -155 against a red hot Penguins team.

Exactly what more would he have to do to convince you otherwise?

You may not like him but his numbers certainly don't lie.

- Chris Osgood has officially put the worst regular season of his
career in the rearview mirror. 12-4, 2.06 GAA, .925 save %, and the
guy was flat-out unreal last night. He was hung out to dry a few times
and was absolutely stoning the Hawks. The backhander by Kane that
beat him was absolutely sick.

I bet if you asked the ducks to a man who each and every one of them thought would win the cup this year. I'd be willing to bet the answer of Detroit would be in the 90% range.

They lost 2 times in Anaheim by the score of 2-1. Once on the worst call of the playoffs so far and then they lost at home once in OT. ALL the Wings wins were convincingly.

And suprisingly, you seem to have stopped calling them the figure skaters. My guess would be because you no longer felt that way any longer. Hits like Kronwall laid out tend to make you forget their a long ways off from figure skating.

I'm not sure, the Pens have the all mighty equalizer on their side in the referees, and we've already seen the refs take 2 games from Detroit this year (game 3 against Anaheim and game 3 against Chicago).

I am very surprised with all the love for the Penguins. I though the line would be Det -180. I guess , peoples last thoughts of this Penguin team is how they thumped Carolina four straight. That series was a little deceiving because most thought that was gonna be a battle but the Hurricanes were flat out of gas and Cam Ward,s play was so horrible. Apparently Ward was battling some kind of injury.
This series should be fast pace hockey but I think Detroit finds more skating room. I am not high on Pit,s defence and they should be exploited here. The Wings are just too deep talent wise with too many snipers. Lindstrom must play if the Wings are to win . They need him back healthy .

I dont need to write a bio on this series because everything has already been said.

I dont feel the Pens have played a team anywhere near the depth of Detroit. While Malkin will be way more of a factor in this series, the Wings have the defense, even without a 100% Lidstrom to disrupt the Pens game plan.

The true question is, can the Pens stop the Wings' depth, rolling 4 lines at you all night? When the big guys arent scoring, will they also be able to contain the Helm, Cleary, Samuelsson, Fillpula, and Hudler?
Add to that The Pens top scorer from the Finals last year, now with the Wings, AND the Wings most timely scorer in the playoffs, Franzen, who was hurt last year, you have too much firepower.

Sounds like a broken record, but, Wings in 6.

Down to -148 now. Can someone give us a full Red Wings injury update before I bet on them? Thanks.

As a Blackhawk fan, I will be on Detroit big. I was one of the doubters of Osgood too. He will get a lot of help. Detroit will stay out the penalty box, and they block a lot of shots. The Chicago series wasn't close at all. Fleury will have to win this series for Pitt.

easily handled the Ducks
simply ridiculous and untrue. took wings to 7 games and detroit had final home game. hawks were no match to the wings as the ducks were.

pens don't have a chance in the finals, any team from the west could beat pens in 5 or 6

The Ducks were very similar to The Flyers under the Bobby Clarke regime. They thought they could win with the biggest, tallest, strongest, oneryest[sp], undisciplined, intimidating players they could acquire. Clarke's problem was he never addressed his goaltender problem. The Ducks had a goaltender and won one, but 9 times out of 10 that philosophy doesn't work. With Burke's bags now packed, I expect that organization to be headed south very quickly. Enjoy your one Cup. You've seen your last in your lifetime!
