MVP?

Seems like you can give it to Ohtani every year now even if he just manages to be anywhere near pretty good considering he is also a pitcher?
What could be more valuable than a 2 way player with even decent stats?

Judge could go .400 75 HRs
If Ohtani goes .270 with 30
16-10 3.75 ERA
You can't tell me Judge is more important with the value of a pitcher

Judge

He's currently winning the Triple Crown too so that's huge

No question I would rather have Ohtani for a career, but no question Judge will win MVP this season. It's adorable though of the amount of people that believe he will be the single season home run champ(record is 73 not 61)---but with that said there is still an aura around the name Maris and 61.

61 is just the AL, he has no chance at the MLB one of 73

JUDGE
Oh Tani doesn't have Babe Ruth numbers at the plate or on the mound.
Most of the members here probably didnt know Ruth was one of the best pitchers in his time.

OhTani numbers arent even close -and never will be!.

Look at Ruths pitching record in 1915, 16,& 17. He ad 65 wins in three years. When was the last time anyone did that?
Wonder how many more HR's he would have hit while being a pitcher only in those years if he was in the lineup every day hitting? He would surly have reached 800.

Red Sox thought they were trading a pitcher to the Yankees that had one good year at the plate in 1918. LOL. He only batted an average 0f 100 times in the three years as primarily a Starting pitcher.
