The mother of Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain has been jailed in Nebraska and faces a felony charge after being arrested on suspicion of selling methamphetamine to an undercover police officer in February.

Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs said Monday that 44-year-old Jacqueline Standley was arrested at her apartment Saturday night.

Beggs said she allegedly sold 1 gram of a substance believed to be meth to an uncover officer for $110 on Feb. 11. The substance tested positive for meth in testing at the state laboratory.

She was charged Monday with delivery of an exceptionally hazardous drug. Her bail was set at $5,000, and she was assigned a public defender, whose name was not on her jail record.

Why the hell should he help her?

I wont even pretend to know the whole story here. But why give your Mom $, or a house, or help if she does nothing but self destruct?

Just because she is his mom why should he have an obligation to rescue her, only to see her waste the money on more drugs?

Perhaps he has sat her down and told her he will help her if she helps herself? We dont know.

I say we dont judge the dude for this. We should never judge situations like this when we dont have all the facts.

I remember reading a year or so ago that his mom was an alcoholic/drug addict and he didn't keep in touch with her.

Sad, sad story. Hopefully she turns her life around.

He is surrounded by smart people, if he wanted to, I am sure he could come up with something to help her.
