Folks, its time to leave this tropical paradise known as Dante’s seventh ring, but prior to pushing my way to the front of a line, demanding some work ethic, and ultimately getting myself arrested, I am curious and would truly appreciate anyone's input into the matter of applying for employment outside of CR. Have any of you tried leaving this country with job in hand, or was it necessary for you to set up a home base in the states prior to your job search there?
I have wet dreams in regards to the NA way of life, business and relationships and need some friendly anecdotes regarding my exit strategy. I don't know if I should even utter the phrase "online gambling" or if I should frame it all as an "e-commerce" using the S.A.
I get the feeling that anyone outside of this industry has no idea what is encompassed by a manager inside this industry.

Please... some assistance, but do not tell me that I am better off living here in the land of the Tico…

Paoli,
everywhere has it' pro's and con's. Check out the place before you go there to live (if possible). I would try to have a job in hand before I went anywhere. Ticolandia isn't so bad, believe me there are places that are much worse. www.bettingjobs.com

Paoli,

I recommend that you use the corporate S.A. name and have a complete job description of what your activities consisted on. For example, if you did customer service explain what your specific activities focused upon and your responsibilities. Also emphasize greatly on the e-commerce aspect. Last year, I lived in the Washington D.C area for a few months and had several good job offers from e-commerce companies.

In the states, it is hard to find people with e-commerce experience. My honest opinion, online gambling experience can be used in almost any type of job on the internet because you are providing and assisting with a service. We are after all a service oriented business. Nevertheless, when you are at the interview, mention that it was online gambling in the very last minute. You might be surprised, some people might think that it is cool and nowadays, more and more people gamble on the internet so it adds more to your advantage.

I myself am planning on going back to the States but to pursue a masters. Afterwards, I will probably stay and live there since I don't want to work in this business forever. I am proud to say that I have a tremendous amount of experience creating a customer service program and have active participation in creating two online gaming companies. The knowledge that I received from my real life experience is nothing compared to what I studed in Business Administration at Ulacit. The best part of it all, is that I learned from all mistakes that ocurred in the creation and implementation process and can use it for my advantage in the future.

If you do decide to go to the states or any other nation, I wish you the best of luck!!!! :howdy:
