There seems to be some good value in this game in my opinion.

The Jets have had a rough off-season, contract disputes, player unrest etc. while the Texans have had it (mostly) easy. The Jets are doing well to build a brand new team and coach Ryan is the right man for the job, but it will take a little time.

I see the Texans taking this one, perhaps not in an easy way, but they will grind it out.

I of course like the Texans in this one as well, but I do have a couple of concerns.

1. Can the Texans stop Leon Washington?
2. Will Schaub be healthy?

I initially liked Texans as well but having second thoughts. Schaub holds on to the ball wayyy to long when in the pocket sometimes.. Rex Ryan very aggressive play caller will be dialing up blitz packages all day and I could see them forcing turnovers along with a few sacks to kill drives... I also have concerns on their ability to stop the run. No play for me..

Rex Ryan seems to be a class act, I can see a lesser coach taking Schaub out, I think Schaubs leg is hurt , he damaged it on a no contact play.

OK. We now have Dunta Robinson back. He's easily a top 5 corner and is great against the run. We also have our #1 pick, Cushing making his first start.

This is going to sound funny, but if Schaub gets hurt I really like Grossman playing. He looked good in his only game and he has much better talent here than he did in Chicago.

I took the Texans at -4.

Texans finished up strong last season. Now a home opener to a season where there is a lot of hope and upside.

Jets too have hope, but Sanchez first game as a pro, on the road against a very hostile defense and wild fan base on opening day.

Only one way to go for me in this one. All the emotional advantage to Houston.

The Jets O-Line has now played a full year together and are a good combination of youth and vets. The Running game is very solid with Jones and Washington. And while Cotchery is a weak Number 1 WR, they have Dustin Keller who will emerge as a top notch pass catching TE.

On defense the loss of Pace for 4 games is tough, but Bart Scott is a beast and the other additons on defense to go along with the Rex Ryan system should mean and improved defense.

I think Sanchez will make alot of mistakes, but i am not sure if the texans defense is good enough to force him to make mistakes. I think the Jets keep this close and have a shot to win the game late.

I like the the Houston to win this game with a rookie QB starting for the Jets and the explosive Houston Offense (if Schaub is healthy). The home crowd should help to fire up a less than average Houston D. However 5.5 pts is too much imho.
