I don't get the whole thing with fantasy either. To me it's like playing the lottery or that proline shit they have in Canada. The take is way too high.
At -110, 4.54% is the house edge. That is what you have to overcome to break even and ultimately be profitable.
And some of us are getting reduced juice.
So how does the daily work? Do you go heads up against someone, or is like 10 guys with top three like a sit n go?
The GPP's are more similar to giant poker multi-table tournaments than they are to a lottery.
Any one given GPP takes an incredible amount of luck to win (or take top 10 or whatever), but players who know what they are doing have an edge as far as cashing more consistently and putting themselves in a position to cash bigger.

I think some people view it as playing at a cash game in poker vs playing ultimate texas holdem vs the house. They prefer their skill matched up against others and not the house. In the case of fantasy play though it is vs a mass amount of people so its virtually a lottery as you and others have said. I am sure some "skilled" fantasy players do well, but its impossible to tell how these players will perform week to week and when a big game will overshadow many bad ones. If that could be predicted you would win every week.My view, it's easier to win against a book, than 30k people, certainly, lower investment with much great potential payout.
I would call it lottery
