not sure what he was thinking . when they showed him hitting drivers on the range , it looked like he hit 2 or 3 skanks in a row . i wasnt surprised to see a shit shot after seeing those .

its a shame sergio hasnt been just a little better putter under pressure in his career .

if he had been , their was potential for nicklaus / palmer or nicklaus / watson type rivalry comparisons when compared to tiger .

i think its lost on the average golf fan just how good a striker of the ball he his . maybe top 10 or 15 of alltime .

would agree .. in fact , their is no doubt in my mind about my earlier comment about top 10 or 15 . i think its top 10 .

i played baltusrol the september before the 93 open . it was basically ready for the open .

we walked , carried our own bags , it was 95 degrees and i was wearing long pants. shot 74 . felt like i shot 54 .

play pine valley twice and merion about 25 times .

71 at p.v. the first time , 76 at merion . i was so intimidated at merion , i could barely draw the club back .

The day I played Merion, we had played Pine Valley in the morning. I shot 5 or 6 over on a breezy day, and the greens were probably running 11.5.

I'm in great shape, but Pine Valley(sand sand sand) is brutal to walk. Especially the par five(15) on the back side.
