MLB.com's Bill Chastain with the scoop - the Rays have acquired Jason Bay for Reid Brignac and Jeff Niemann. The Rays haven't confirmed it yet though

Im rooting for them as much as anyone but come on with that weak sauce.

:ohno:

They lead the best division in baseball by 3 games 100+ games into the season and getting BALDELLI back in two weeks.

Adding a legit 30 hr 100 rbi bat in Jason Bay for virtually nothing is a huge addition.

Drays are favs now?

BTW the SS they gave up was a huge prospect dont know if he was bad in the Minors but i recall him being a huge prospect.

If they were to call up Price soon, than i would agree they would be a real threat to hang with the yanks, but as it is now their offense is still so weak with little pop after Longoria, Pena and now Bay

With hockey season beginning soon, not many people in the TB area are concerned with the RAYS.

Terrible fans as a whole.........although the ones I know personally are very good.

Fish, are the Lightning really that popular in Tampa? Seems like baseball should do better than hockey in a place like that, not to mention the Rays are in first and the Lightning finished in last...

This Really Pisses Me Off

Not too many teams in MLB need a RH bat as much as the Twins, and they sit and do nothing. While Nady & Bay go right by. NYY got 2 players Mn could use for zilch. The Twins have many options they could have sent to Pitt. For some reason they think that when Cuddyer returns he'll open the gates to the AL crown. He's a decent stick but not as good as Nady or Bay. F it I don't give a crap if they lose now. Might as well bring in Favre too, and win the SB so he can get all the credit. Sorry guys a tad irritated!
