There were reports earlier Wednesday that Winston had been arrested, but the Tallahassee Police Department told Chris Littmann of The Sporting News that it was unaware of an arrest involving Winston as of Wednesday morning.

One source told Elliott that Winston received “an adult civil citation. If he completes the sanctions, it will never show up on his record.” Elliott reported that Winston’s punishment from Florida State will include a $30 fine, community service and a suspension from the baseball team.

There is more as reported on ESPN...Winston also was involved in two other minor incidents, but was never arrested or charged in either case. In November 2012, police questioned Winston and other FSU football players after 13 windows were broken at an apartment building near the school's stadium, after an apparent BB gun fight. In the second incident, in July 2013, a Burger King employee called Tallahassee, Fla., police to complain that Winston was stealing soda.

The most dangerous period of time during the calendar year for head football coaches is the "off-season".....That is when most of their "troubles" rear their ugly head... That dreaded late night phone call from one of their assistants saying, "I just got a call from the police, Charlie Wonder has been arrested".......We all know he rest.....Can't you just hear-it.....What are the charges ? Has the press been notified ? Was it a bar-room brawl ? How man women were there....were their pants still on ? Were there any weapons involved ? Let's wait till the morning before we call the Provost/Parents/the AD/the Sports Information Director/etc; We need to gather all the facts (i.e. plan our strategy/damage control).
