BAD NEWS ... NOT A GOOD DAY(Bush caves-in again)
boortz.com/Nealz Nuze ^| Thursday -- January 6, 2005 | Neal Boortz

Well, this is too bad. The core group of nations that President Bush put together to deliver aid to the victims of the tsunami is being dissolved. All relief operations will now be taken over by the United Nations. What a mess ... what a pathetic cave-in from the Bush administration. The initial coalition for tsunami relief is being dissolved. It's all going to be turned over to the United Nations. Now Kofi and Kompany will have billions of dollars to spend for tsunami relief.

Now that he has successfully hijacked the relief operation, Kofi the Korrupt wants the cash right away. He is demanding that the nations who pledged money immediately hand over the $977 million to the UN. The same UN that turned a $64 billion oil-for-food program into a cesspool of corruption, the same Kofi Annan who turned his head while his UN buddies, including his son, siphoned off untold millions of dollars intended to feed and medicate Iraqi women and children is now getting his hands on all of the American taxpayer money that has been pledged to the relief efforts. The US aid that would have been distributed to the victims of the tsunamis under the name of the United States will now be distributed under the name of the United Nations. These people will look to the UN to thank for their salvation, not the people of the United States.

You have to wonder just much of that money will actually go to help the victims. Once the United States' $350 million is funneled through the corrupt bureaucracy of the U.N., how much will be left to help the starving children of Sri Lanka? Certainly some aid will get through .... aid emblazoned with the UN logo ... and almost as certainly some of the money will end up in the pockets of corrupt UN toadies.

This is why it is not a good idea for governments to engage in charity. Over $350 million that was seized from the American people through confiscatory taxes will now be spent by an agency that is dedicated to the destruction of American sovereignty. Nice going.

Given this unfortunate development, it is now more important than ever to channel your charitable contributions into private charities that do a better job than the U.N. does, like AmeriCares and the American Red Cross. Tsunami relief has now been successfully politicized. The political war was a quick one, and the United States lost. Victory goes to the corrupt and anti-American United Nations. A sad day.

A great American lady, widower of the founder of McDonalds, donated 2 billion dollars to the Salvation Army. She must be turning over in her grave now.

Kinda makes you question Bush's disdain for the UN in 2002/3, doesn't it?

I smell a smokescreen.

But it's good that you're not happy with Bush. That's a positive. But I shudder to think of the backlash rising against him and what it might mean in 2008, especially now that all the rapture nutters realise just how powerful they are politically.

Think Pat Robertson might have another go at it?

As I've alluded to before neither one of us will be caught at too many mensa meetings. But I liked him because of his backbone.

The crooks will improve on stealing this go around. It may be 20 years before we know just how much they stole off this scam. I say don't send a peeny and sleep well at night.

Pat - until the UN is reformed or replaced, there ain't a hell of a lot of choice unless we want to go it alone.

It's like the recent election - you could have voted for Kerry, but you didn't because Bush was the only true candidate worthy of your vote.

This is one of the things the UN was created for - and, after the food for oil fiasco, Korrupt Kofi will have everyone looking over his shoulder - so I have to disagree - Bush did the smart thing here - it would have cost the US another billion or two if we tried to go it alone.

That this is a fact shouldn't deter your ranting.

I give Patriot a lot of credit ...

It took a lot of guts to title this thread like he did being a Bushie lover and I respect that

Jinn is right regarding the Halliburton ....

I gave to a few orgs like World Vision ... if my money is ripped off, hey, at least I stepped to the plate and tried to do the right thing

My hat goes off to you ... very rare to see a Bushie with the guts to make a statement like this and I respect that
