We're concerned about AIDS inside our White House - make no mistake about it." -George W. Bush, Feb. 7, 2001

Then I went for a run with the other dog and just walked. And I started thinking about a lot of things. I was able to - I can't remember what it was. Oh, the inaugural speech, started thinking through that." -George W. Bush, in a pre-inaugural interview with U.S. News & World Report

I'm hopeful. I know there is a lot of ambition in Washington, obviously. But I hope the ambitious realize that they are more likely to succeed with success as opposed to failure." -George W. Bush, Jan. 2001

You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test.'' -George W. Bush, Feb. 21, 2001

President Bush is a terrible public speaker most of the time. What does this tell us? It tells us the Democratic party is finshed unless they become a solution based party instead of a whiny liberal party. The Republicans had a very weak candidate and still won twice, and gained seats in the house and Senate and look to gain more in 2006.

BB,
I hear they plan to roast Bushs attorney general on the fact he wasn't nice enough to the terrorist. They plan to claim the terrorist were not given enough rights, lawyers and rec time and a bunch of BULLSHIT. They are complete and total fools if they do that. Americans could give a ratz azz about the terrorist. They will lose 5 Senate seats and 6 house seats if they side with the terrorist.

Stupid is as stupid does. You guys think bush is a genius that just can't verbilize an idea?

The reasons he was elected (once).
I'm a WAR president.
I voted for the 87 bil before I voted against it. (huh?)
9/11 hangover.

I would much rather given my vote to Nader or Bandarik(sp?)but you go with what has a chance. Personally the thought of Kerry or Hillary running in 2008 makes me feel that Dems are commited to losing.

Where is Ross Perot when you really need him?

"President Bush is a terrible public speaker most of the time."

It goes a little deeper than public speaking.

As far as his success it's true that it's not suprising, saddly the average American is not particularily educated, literate or informed, hence the stupid/ignorant American stereotype that is so common in so much of the world. What's worse is that some many Americans perfectly happy having that type simple talking, slow witted "average" Joe represent us.

There you go - Both Doc Jinnior and kaya have just reenforced the reason Bush is President - it's because the Dems can't field a good alternative and can't figure out why they keep losing.

Kerry was a terrible candidate - another Northeast liberal!

It's the same with congress - the Dems can't figure out why they're slowly losing ground to the Republicans.

They can't figure out that their agenda is the problem - The emperor is naked!

I understand that the Senate Dems are going to attack Gonzales nomination using Gitmo and Abu Graib as examples of the denial of rights. This is a perfect example of "They just don't get it!" How do most American voters feel about these prisoners and their rights? How many of you are willing to wager that many voting Americans will see this as another facet of the "weak on Crime" issue that the Dems live with.

At the rate the Dems are going, they'll be extinct by the time the decade is over.

Maybe that's not such a bad thing. But a better thing would be the rise of third party that takes the best of both parties. Won't happen but I can dream.

Bleeted, you can attack me all you want. In so doing you entrench your self as a far right wingnut. This makes you no better than doc. I don't agree with every thing doc says. As far as the feud you two have leave me out of it.

Besides you have no credibility, calling me a liar about my military service. I challenged you to put your money were your mouth was. We'll make a wager, I'll prove my military affilitation, you'll pay me whatever you can afford to lose.

Close but no cigar, he's pres because the dumbed down portion of society has the advantage for the moment. The public was fine with an intelligent leader, Clinton, and polls even indicated that he would have won a 3rd (if such a thing were a possibility) despite the repub impeach fiasco. Don't forget that it took a fixed election for dumbya to beat out a zero charism opponent the first time, and the religious right swung the second election for him to win by a slight majority.
