fighters who sacrifice their lives to training feel the need to apoligize after their fights b/c of ignorant assholes in the stands that boo them like Valasquez and Johnson did tonight.

I know that these guys are profesisonal athletes who get paid b/c the consumers put the $$ up to watch their events as a form of entertainment. And, in all sports you see it. (Although, the only times i have ever boo'd an athlete is when i thought i saw a lack of effort). But i feel like it is somewhat different in an individual sport as opposed to a team sport.

In individual sports these fans are directing their displeasure at one person. I just think it is a shame that there are so many little people out there. Just straight up loser assholes. And i feel like mma fans have a disporpotionate amount of them.

Honestly, I have had the must fun at the smaller shows i have been to. The UFC and IFL shows i went to were filled with so many scum bags in the stands contantly expresing there displeasure for the fights that it really took away from my enjoyment of the fights. It really just made me so f**kin pissed.

I dont even know why im ranting on here, must be the perks i ate. But what the f*ck was up with the crowd tonight. Im all for being vocal at sporting events and bringing energy. But the booing after 30 seconds of inactivity is f*cked. If you dont like MMA, stay the f*ck home. Read a book, find a hobby, maybe train to fight yourself.

Great night of fights tho imo. Makes me glad i stayed in to watch instead of htting up the wattering hole. Valasquez opponent was like punching a tree. Tough stoppage for Grice imo. Thought the danzig neer fight waqs great. Louzon's grappling was great to watch coming from a bjj guy. I want to see him get another contender.

When you pay hard earned money to go to a show, you have the right to cheer and boo whoever you want.

Fans were ridiculous tonight. Cain dominated and was throwing heavy leather the entire fight before it got stopped and then he has to apologize for not getting the highlight knockout because the other dude has a granite chin? BS.

Of course I agree with this. You have the right. IMO, you are just a scumbag if you feel that is appropriate. Maybe i am wrong here, all opinions welcomed.

As big as the ufc is, i think alot of the people who to go ufc shows aren't die hard mma fans. They just want liddell type knockouts and alot of the fighters aren't very well known so people have no idea who the hell they are. Usually established stars dont get booed.

that is true. nd i guess without all these fans buying the shows, ufc wouldnt be as big as it is and we wouldnt get the shows we do get.

And I dont mean this to be a catch all. If you want to boo the opposing fighter when he comes out b/c he if fighting your fav fighter. Or, if i guy is being overlly cocky, putting on a spectacle and asking for it, then it is all in good fun. Im all for emotion. Im just talking the booing of ground fighting, or inactive standup, the bullshit when two guys are clearly trying to implement their game plan but there is a stalmate. It happens.

head over and read some of these mma forums....they have to be made up of predominantly teenagers...

the conversations are inane and juvenile...it`s about as enlightening and mature as reading a forum in tiger beat magazine.....

you see these yo-yo`s with their mma gear(and now mma jewelry,lol...thanks dana)...

they`re basically little groupies....i want mma to succeed, but it`s a sad state of affairs that this is such a large part of their fan base...

i`m sure if you asked them what they got on their i.q. test, the answer would be "drool".....

I finally get it... You were the kid who got picked on his entire life weren't you?? Thats why you are so sensitve. Seriously no offense I understand that, because I don't see how you can feel sorry for those who get booed. That is there job and the fans can do whatever the hell they want. That is there paycheck to please the crowd. Are you serious on this?? If they don't like it then get out because others are dying to get in. It's how they get paid. But you know what, I'm sure they are real men and don't cry about petty BS like you do. Baseball, basketball, football, any sport they want the action. No person there knows what is really going on they want blood just lke Nascar wants a crash. Valasquez better fight harder next time regardless, because the people who were booing decide how much his paycheck will be the next fight. Liberal??

i guess what is actually sad is the fact the i am actually responding to you. but i am serious. my point is not that people dont have the right to boo, nor do i lack the understanding that the consumer drives the ufc and gives the fighters the ability to pay the bills.

i suppose i am just still amazed at how ignorant the average mma fan is and am shocked that fighters feel the need to apoligize. after having the balls to get in there, i could not imagine apoligizing after a fight. im suprised you dont have more perceived "bad guys" telling the crowd to shove it after their fight.

and to answer your questions, no, i have never been picked on, and although i dont identify with any party, i would consider my ideals libertarian.
i recently wrote a paper about the inherent right to use recreational drugs if anyone is interested in the subject i can send it to you.
