One of many reasons the people in the government that supported this war did so was because they saw that the sanctions did not work, and that the sanctions were killing too many people.

Shit you are right. You know there are evil people in Iran, China, North Korea, Japan, Russia, Libya, Yemen, and several other countries. I guess we better take over the world because if we allow another regime to stand who knows it might do something bad someday. We better take over the world. We have to get rid of these other countries leaders for our own good. Danny: it is indeed unfortunate that the UN sanctions have been blamed for the deaths, instead of properly placing the blame in Saddam's goddamn lap. If Saddam had not simply stolen most of the food as a method of punishing those he wanted to keep down, like the Shiites, and had not spent one hell of a lot of money on himself, his partners in crime and the military, and instead actually let the food-for-oil program work as intended, and had disarmed as agreed in order to have the UN sanctions lifted, no one would have died.
The thing that amuses me in a sad, sick way is that WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LEFT WITH IN ORDER TO DISARM SADDAM if you can't invade and you can't impose sanctions??????

It is beyond the realm of possibility to think he simply destroyed them without verification.
