It's crazy how much healthier we would be if we didn't have to go to work everyday

It's really opened my eyes this week. Normally if I am not working I'm on vacation, so i guess I don't notice it. But this week i've had some time off work and feel like a different person. Have gotten plenty of sleep, tons of time to go to the gym each day. I have gone to farmers market and grocery store getting healthy food and having enough time to prepare it. Add having zero stress to all that and it's a much healthier lifestyle. Too bad we have to work for a living because it's back to the grind next week. 5 hours or less sleep each night, fast food/carryout, and a lot more stress.

Any one have tips they use on managing work with a healthy lifestyle?

Usually beat the wife and kids when I get home. It's a real stress reliever.

As for healthy, I like to spend about 15 minutes on Sunday to pack snack baggies for the week with healthy foods for during the day...ounce of beef jerky, some carrots, grapes, protein powder, etc. It makes it way easier to grab-n-go in the morning when it's already there made for the taking.

Try to cook 3 days worth of food at once on Sunday, and again on Wed. Takes less than an hour to prepare and cook up boneless/skinless chicken breast for 3 days of healthy meals.

These 2 things really help for everyone I know to stay of the healthy track, food wise anyways.

I hear what you're saying but I think knowing that you only have a week off gets you motivated to do more. If you didn't work and didn't have a reason to be on a schedule, then I think it would be human nature to get lazy.

You know what's funny is most of my retired clients say retirement is the hardest thing they've ever done in their lives... people of means and power suddenly not respected or valued quite as much... a real interesting dichotomy. .. make sure when it's retirement time u have a ton of hobbies to fall back on

I work from home.....

I get up at 10am everyday. long dog walk. do work...eat lunch, watch sports in the background, beat off, text friends, take another long dog walk, make dinner, drink, hang with gf here and there, and golf

I feel amazing. Also, it allows you to work out, run errands, get the little shit out of the way that 9-5 people can't

I feel so much healthier than I did 5 years ago

Here's my tip. Get more sleep and eat healthier. Your choice.

I guess if we really wanted to know what it's like to be home each day without a job we could ask a Democrat. They may have to work a bit as in walking down to get their unemployment check or food stamps.

did it for years but you have to be discipline for sure. Also, you beat off watching sports?

If he does, he's a real pro.

I was just an amateur till I could beat off to the overweight version of Rachel Ray. It took me a while but now I can do it to her and Judge Judy.
