South Carolina +7

Love the SEC home dogs and the fact that the loss to Vandy was nothing more than an abberation as SC was simply looking ahead to this matchup. SC plays this one tight all the way to the end.

Georgia 21
South Carolina 20

Fresno St. +2

This is a vastly improved Fresno team and it probably Pat Hill's best team. I have no clue how Fresno got Wisky to travel here but we'll jum at the opportunity to get Fresno at home with points. Look for Fresno's D to load up and stop PJ Hill while constantly getting pressure on Evridge.

Wisconsin 24
Fresno 31

Tennessee -30

Going to continue to go against this putrid UAB team. Look for UT to take out alot of UCLA aggression here

UAB 7
Tennessee 55

Maryland +14'

Long trip for the Cal Bears and look for Maryland to refocus after the hiccup at MTSU.

Cal 31
Maryland 27

ECU -13

Skip Holtz is 28-11 ATS while at ECU

ECU 24
Tulane 0

BYU -8

UCLA is still drunk after the win over UT that is going to turn out to be a mirage. Look for BYU's D to make UCLA look like the 1st half team all game long. The difference here is Max Hall and Harver Unga will make sure and capitilize on turnovers

UCLA 13
BYU 27

USC -10'

This line is about 7 points short. Both D's are talented, but the difference is the offenses is exponential. Sanchez and co. are going to get at least 28 every game, while Boechman will have trouble getting anything. Wells is back but not 100%. Oyea, forgot to mention that this game is at the Coliseum.

OSU 10
USC 31

Alabama -28

Look for Saban t have the Tide focused this week due to the porous effort against Tulane. The defense will be stingy like is has been in the first two games. The offense will look sharp as the tide coasts in this one.

W. Kentucky 6
Alabama 45

Totals I am looking at for this week

Nevada/Mizzou over
Texas Tech/SMU over
Penn St/Sorrycuse under
NMSU/Nebraska over
Virginia/UCONN under
USC/OSU under

Thought and comments are welcome and appreciated

Can't agree with your UCLA-BYU assessment. UCLA is well over their "hangover" from their drunken bender with the Vols. Neuheisel is the real deal at HC and he has his kids believing in themselves. Mix in DC Walker and OC Chow. This series has always been a tight one. Getting +8 is nice. I'll go with the Bruins to lose but keep it within the number.

Also disagree with your Cal-Maryland play. Maryland losing to Middle Tennessee State last week, 24-14, should be enough said. However, as they are only averaging 14 points a game - and that's what Cal scores in a little over a quarter, the mismatch here becomes even MORE evident. This game is all about an impotent Terrapin team facing a team with a good QB, Nate Longshore, who is in his third year starting, a budding RB star in Jahiv Best, a good defense that returns 8 starters, and an experienced O-line that protects Longshore very well. Last week the Cal defense held a decent WSU offense to just a field goal. I'm going with Cal -14.5 and it will be ugly.

Another one I don't agree with is your Georgia-SC play. S. Carolina couldn’t beat Vanderbilt, a 10-point underdog, last week. Georgia has toyed with two “cupcakes”, winning by a combined 101-38, in preparation for this SEC East opener for both squads. Georgia comes into Columbia to face the Gamecocks with a loaded team rated in the top 3 in the nation. QB Matt Stafford finished behind only Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Tebow, in passing efficiency in the SEC last year. RB Keshown Moreno rushed for over 1300 yards last year and scored three times in a route of Central Michigan last week. He’s a bonifide Heisman Trophy candidate this year. Georgia has great receivers, depth on both sides of the ball, and scored 38ppg in its last 6 games last season, including 42 against Florida and 45 against Auburn. It doesn’t help that S. Carolina beat the ‘Dawgs last year, 16-12. Georgia has not only winning its first SEC game, but revenge on its mind, as well. I'm taking Georgia -7 in this one.

Be careful of your ECU-Tulane play. The Green Wave played Alabama extremely tough last week before finally caving in late in the game. Tulane will be pumped for this game in the Superdome. Bob Toledo will have his guys ready. ECU is bound to have a letdown, and this is the perfect spot. Getting +13 is great. ECU wins but by a closer margin than you think.

I agree with your Tennessee pick. After hearing it all week by the local town people, the Volsa should throttle UAB handily.

Same with your Alabama play. Western Kentucky? No way the Hilltoppers will keep this close.

No thoughts on the Wisky-Fresno play.

USC-OSU play? I am a Trojan alum, and I wouold love to see them thrash the Luckeyes. Yet, this game reminds me when OSU traveled to Austin several years ago to face a Vince Young led Texas squad. VERY CLOSE. Buckeyes are a junior-senior laden team, and HC Tressel surely didn't reveal anything in his last 2 games. He kept his game plans PURE VANILLA. He'll break out everthing for this one. Also, do not discount the possibility of OSU QB Pryor playing. The kid is a scrambler, and we all know what running QBs can do to SC. I'm pulling for you on your bet, but it would not surprise me to see OSU keep it VERY CLOSE within the number.

Good luck with all your plays! :toast:

I stand corrected.

9-10-05 @ Columbus Texas 25 OSU 22

9-6-06 @ Austin OSU 24 Texas 7

Point being made is that OSU plays these "big" REGULAR SEASON (e.g., NOT bowl games) CLOSE!

+11 seems like a gimme.

GL with your USC play. :smoking:

Like I said, I'm a Trojan alum, and I would LOVE to see them crush the Luckeyes.

I appreciate the comments, but this proverb will let you in on my view of these plays. "Your are never as bad as you looked last week, and you are never as good as you looked last week." Again, the thoughts are much appreciated
