Yeah brother, I spent two full seasons as a Lift Op at Sugar Bowl in Norden, love that place.
I lived in the Dorms the first season, and Donner Summit Lodge during the second one. I actually met my first Tica there and somehow ended up here in CR shortly after.
P.S. I actually discoverded mountainboarding there and then decided to introduce the sport to CR
damn bro! I could have run into you... I was torn between joining the military or moving to Tahoe to work at the Casino during the summer and a ski resort during the winter. I chose the military.
This is probably a dumb question to ask but did you know a guy named "Cartwheel Ken". He was a snowboard buddy of mine and he actually knew everyone up there especially at Donner because he worked up there for a while. He was an amazing "jigger" we used to do a lot of off-trail jiggin' up there. I like jiggin' better than riding the park or staying on the trails because it is less predictable and more cooler natural terrain to ride.
I am curious to hear everyone's story on how/why they came to Costa Rica? Mine was a surf trip, from advice I learned from a guy when we we getting ready to ship out to basic training from San Diego. Your's is you met a Tica in Tahoe. I wonder what other people's are?
Mountain boarding seems fun and I didn't know it actually came from up in Tahoe. Interesting. I actually see your vision of Mountain boarding getting big in CR because CR loves extreme sports and has plenty of hills to do this stuff on.
