Ol' Stan Van never ceases to amaze me with his late game maneuvers. He stuck with Nelson even though he was playing horrible. He gave Battie minutes in the 4thQ. And the final play in regulation sealed the deal when his team did not foul Fisher in the open court to put him on the line. Can not let him get off the 3 in that spot.

The Magic should have never put Stan Van in the situation if they make their free throws they would have won.

Why was Jameer Nelson even on the floor when Fisher hit the first 3?
There must have been a better defensive option than a short, injured Jameer.
Granted he was doing a great job getting the ball to Howard, but shouldn't Stan Van should have been rotating defensive / offensive subs at that point?

sorry the loss is on the players for not hitting free throws. You had Howard and Turkoglu missing mad free throws.

i posted this in the offshore forum...

van gundy is the reason the magic are one game away from goin' fishin'...

jackson handed van gundy this one on a 'spit'...

yet that 'hedgehog' still failed to recoginize...

jackson had the lakers inbound the ball fullcourt...

gave every advantage to the magic...

and they still did not foul...

horseshit job by van gundy.

i disagree with you...

the magic were +17 in free throw attempts...

&

+7 in free throws made.

this loss is on van gundy.

It should have never been down to that 3 pointer. Magic missed FT's in the 4th. Hedo missed them. Then Dwight just needed to make 1 out of 2 and they win. Orlando missed 6 out of their last 9 FT's. Fuckers

my 2 cents

nba- 48 minutes, impossible to say one play caused a win/loss
of course plays late in game stand out.
for me, poor foul shooting is one reason for a loss in regulation
for me, steve van gundy, is a joke, play calling and staregy

It did come down to coaching, but not for the resons mentioned. Why is Dwight (I can't make a free throw) Howard on the floor up 3 with seconds to play?

GAME SET MATCH LA...and not complaining because I had LAL
