NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. mortgage applications plunged to a seven-month low last week as demand for home refinancing loans tumbled 30 percent, data from an industry group showed on Wednesday. Home prices fell by 18.1 pct. in April.

(Bloomberg) -- Companies in the U.S. cut more jobs than forecast in June, according to a private report today, showing the labor market will be slow to improve even as other parts of the economy indicate the recession is abating.

The 473,000 drop in the ADP Employer Services gauge followed a revised reduction of 485,000 workers in May and unemployment rose to a 26-year high of 9.6 percent.

And while the news was not good what were our elected officials doing?

Well, BO went to a community college in suburban Virginia Wednesday to again press his case for legislation overhauling the health care system, saying it's "not too soon" to act on the problem and members of Congress continued a Fourth of July week recess away from Washington.

Way to go guys :103631605

This is good news.

Soon, mortgage financiers will be offering even better rates to applicants in order to stimulate fresh business. Being as the SheBar and I will be entering that market next summer, everything seems to be lining up just fine.

I would have thought by then, once all your business endeavors start producing on a cylinders, you would be able to pay cash.

green shoots everywhere you look. In the last week, not a day went by I didn't hear some blow hard say housing is putting in a bottom.

Sure we lost another half a million jobs, but we might have lost hundreds of thousands more if the Bama wasn't out there creating or saving jobs everywhere.

Sounds like you watch too much lapdog media...... In the meantime we Import 128.000 legal Immigrants per month or 2 1/2 million every 2 years....Does this make any sense?

I would have thought by then, once all your business endeavors start producing on all cylinders, you would be able to pay cash.

Our shared business ventures continue to be on the upswing, but I would be startled if we could drop $240K in cash on a house next summer.

And presuming a finance rate of 8% or lower, it would be much smarter to finance it for 30 years.

Let's hope that when I finally make the Vegas trip, I'll be able to buy you a Full Dinner instead of just a couple happy hour rounds
