Bardude the relationship between Israel and Her evangelical allies is strange, yet symbiotic until the end of time. Evangelicals believe Israel must be in control of the Holy Land for the messiah to return. Most Jews are comfortable with the fact that God never sent his son to earth and he isn't coming back. And since Israel is surrounded by 22 Arab Muslim theocracies that would like to see it disappear Israel welcomes all the help She can get. Also, many Christian organizations do so much for Israel:

Food, medical and housing support seems at least a modest courtesy when given to people who you believe will roast eternally in the flaming pits of Hell due to not acknowledging the Ultimate Lordship of JC

Yes Barman at first glance this entire situation appears to be no goode.

But when you think about it most support of Israel comes from people and other governments who align with the State of Israel's core values. The surrounding theocracies deny human rights, freedom of speech, rule of law and free elections, etc.

Many people view the disappearance of Israel from that region to be the beginning of the toppling of Western civilization, and Israel to be the front line against the war on global terrorism.

Israel is making the world a better place. Israel is teaching farming techniques to food-deprived African nations. Just recently Israel sent a team of surgeons to Tanzania to perform corrective heart surgery on 22 children, and dispatched a field hospital to Japan, leaving it intact when they left after 2 weeks. I don't know about you, but the site of Israeli soldiers and doctors playing soccer with Japanese kids......
