The government has its own sportsbook, but it is somewhat of a joke. The limits are $100.00, and it is all parlays. Sportsaction is the name. You can see all the ads at GM place. If you are asking if canada has sportsbook like the ones at the Bellagio, the answer is no. You need to play off-shore if you want to play legally.

Bertuzzi Fan,

Are you saying it's legal in Candad for to wager with offshore books?

I thought someone said that Canadians could not even wager with Wagerstreet, etc. in Canada?

Does anyone KNOW what the truth is. I CAN HANDLE the TRUTH!

To be perfectly honest, I don't think our government cares if we bet with books in Costa rica or the carribean. But then again, they don't even care if we have a bunch of pot. very cool, liberal government here. I have to say that I have never heard of anyone having a problem legally for wagering with books in Europe, Australia, Costa rica, or anywhere in the Carribean.

The law is that for now, it is sort of "extra" legal. You can do it because no one has really been enforcing it for now. Bodog won't take Canadian customers because they have offices in Vancouver and want to keep the RCMP off their asses. So for now yes you can do it and not fear any reprisal, but it may not always be that way. And no walk up books, although I thought Ontario was thinking of doing that a year or two ago, but I never heard what happened to that.
